Wishful executives will keep their eyes peeled on Portland and Damian Lillard, but it’s the Chicago Bulls who have started contacting teams, quietly gauging the trade interest in Zach LaVine, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

Charlotte could feasibly trade the pick, but the Hornets appear deep in internal deliberations between Henderson and Miller. There has been plenty of buzz about New Orleans and Toronto, in addition to Houston, registering interest in jumping up the draft board.

For all the incoming calls the Pelicans receive on Trey Murphy, dating back to February’s trade deadline, sources said, he’s not quite the headlining player that would appear to get Charlotte or Portland’s attention. So that leaves Brandon Ingram or Zion Williamson in this thought experiment. New Orleans staffers always speak philosophically about no player being “untouchable,” but the Pelicans have shown little interest in parting with Ingram at this juncture, league sources told Yahoo Sports. With Williamson’s health history, New Orleans has had to pragmatically consider alternatives for the Pelicans’ long-term roster construction, especially under harsher tax penalties in the league’s new CBA. New Orleans, though, still fondly remembers standing first in the Western Conference when this roster was fully available last season. It sounds like the No. 2 or No. 3 pick in this draft would merely be the starting point to meet New Orleans’ valuation of Williamson, all his possible downside entering a five-year, $194 million contract be damned.

Listening to “All Hornets Podcast: June 14th Episode”

Rafael Barlowe says OMax has been interviewing really well.

Makes an interesting, but obvious point, that interviews are kinda weird. Some prospects are really engaging and talkative and others aren’t. Compares it to interviewing Kawhi vs CJ. (Would you really take CJ over Kawhi because he doesn’t interview well? No.)

The Twins are the riskiest picks in the draft.

Says GG Jackson, Jarace Walker, and Brandon Miller have a lot more to their game that they weren’t able to show in college based on systems and how they were used.

Questions about Scoot: Only shot 40% as the PnR ballhandler, bottom 16th percentile at finishing in transition. Missed 6 of his 22 dunks this season. Questions his "elite finishing ability".

Okay Nate, how do we get Siakam without giving up 3 then?

maybe I'm mis-reading but I think he might simply be defending Siakam as a player rather than saying the Blazers could get him without using the 3.

there has been a lot of dismissive chatter about Siakam among Blazer fans

I'm assuming Oliver-Maxence Prosper who most mocks have going in the second round.
Mocks that haven't been updated recently, perhaps. He's climbing, particularly due to his performance at the combine. His athletic numbers were phenomenal, and his scrimmages were excellent.

Godfather didn't give him any respect on the Radio. I was like , what, he's an All NBA player who is known for being a very good defender ,who can score and rebound. Some around this town seem to think the Godfather's word is gospel. Mostly the over 50 crowd, but some younger too. I love Rip City Radio, and Chad, but Jayne's takes on Dame, and potential additions is causing me ill health. He's paid for his opinion i know, but he comes off as very polarizing in his sports takes. They come off as almost political. And surprisingly un educated at times. I expect more from someone with his background.

I'm 59 with a Well Educated college grad daughter, and she educates me by calling out my B.S. Dad, you need to be better. She's right. I'm doubting that anyone, but maybe Chad , is doing that with Jaynes. Or maybe he's too far gone to care.

As i've stated many times , Siakam & DeRozan would be the additions i'd be most excited about. But Bridges/ Claxton or Zion and supporting players would be intriguing as well.

Jaynes was Canzano before Canzano was Canzano and both of them can go jump in a lake just before it freezes over

Clownzano's from California. I wish he was "Going back to Cali". But Jaynes has infested my favorite radio show. I miss Travis. Happy for him though. I've listened to the other local station in that time slot, and it's OK. But i like Chad a ton, even though he talks too much freakin' golf. I can live with that though.

Simons/Nurk/#3 and #23
for Bridges/Claxton/Mills

I can’t tell, because I’m a Blazers homer, but is this in the realm of realistic?

I would think so based on the fact I had to hesitate if I wanted the Blazers to do it.
As long as the Nets want to start over

Olivier-Maxence Prosper. I was a big OMax fan, and in March hoping we can snag him at #43. Now, I am not sure he will even fall to #23.

He was by far the heartbeat of an overachieving (in regular season, in my view) Marquette squad and really has strong potential to be the best, athletic 3-D wing in this class.
Just to add, apparently, he is this years Jalen Williams (who went 12).

Guess it depends on who/which rumors you believe... I think it was on Highkin's podcast yesterday where 3 + Ant was worth more than just Bridges.

So that would make whatever the "more" was + Claxton + Mills = Nurk and 23.

Feels to me like an overpay on our part.

Then trade Nas & Keon plus future unprotected 1st & 2-3 2nd rounders to Chicago for DeMar DeRozan. Claxton, Grant , Bridges , DeRozan , Dame. Bench : Sharpe, Mills, Mays, Watford , Eubanks. I like It!

This is encouraging to me:

Woj said there's not a player who is currently available for trade who is worth the #3 pick. And if it's Scoot at 3, the Portland will take him and try to figure it out. The value in having a guy on a rookie scale deal who could be an all star is really high and none of the guys on market at this moment meet that threshold, and the Portland FO apparently feels similar. Also mentioned how engaged Dame is and is probably aligned with this thought process for now.

Sounds like posturing. They want Brooklyn to change their mind.

That bench has
I don’t understand how they think this is realistically possible.
I will say though that if DeRozan is also involved that's intriguing as well. Nurk, Grant, DeRozan, LaVine, Dame. That's juicy.

ill cut my dick off if he goes in the second

I'm assuming, since a rookie scale was mentioned, part of Woj's calculus is the contract status of the 'available' players. Siakam and Brown will be on expiring contracts and when balanced against essentially the 7 year guarantee of a rookie scale-->extension, expirings have negative value. Zion is the opposite in that his contract has high potential to be a boat anchor. Bridges has the best contract, but it's such a small sample size of him being a 1st option it's hard to trust it

so yeah, I think the Blazers should want more for trading the 3rd pick than what we've heard so far. And I'm still mostly convinced other teams will be setting too high a price

there has been a very artificial deadline set on Portland's use of that pick. If traded, it doesn't have be as a pick. The Blazers can make the pick, sign the player, and trade him later. Trade deadlines can generate blockbuster trades sometimes. Theoretically, Miller would be a better fit into the roster; Scoot would be more problematic but that doesn't mean the problems couldn't be resolved or deferred
