How anyone is getting upset over reports, of which 90% are water-carrying smokescreens, while nothing good/bad has happened, is beyond me.
I like when people are upset without any reports as well. How many posts we've seen over the last week or month or more..." I swear if the team doe unimaginable thing X, I'm done, etc." Cool. Cool.

I swear, if the team drafts Timme at #3, I'm fucking done man!

What team has two top 30 or 35 guys that they'll trade for the third pick and our scraps? lol
also... trading a guy multiple sources call the definitive #1 pick if he were in the next two drafts for less than he's worth because of a positional misfit is idiotic for a team in our stage. we're not one player away. Hell, we're probably not two players away.

If no deal manifests by tmrw, take Scoot and groom him to become the heir apparent while thanking our lucky stars Charlotte done fucked up again.

So much anger in here...Worse than twitter. Oooof. Cronin and the team of qualified personnel will be doing their best to put a quality product on the floor for our entertainment. That's all there is to it. Entertainment.

Marang said most likely:

draft 3

trade 23 for vet. Says there are multiple choices for 23, but 3 would go for Mikal or Zion that’s it.

I'd be most excited for...

1) Trade for Zion
2) Drafting Amen
3) Drafting Scoot

The dead period I think has started not saying something might not leak but saying baseless rumors for now prolly dead for tonight as every front office is hard at work for tomorrow so I would be surprised if we hear anything else tonight. However if we do and it comes from a legit trusted source ( Woj etc ) I would put a little more stock in it then normal.

A person who has a mental health issue is not required to disclose this when applying for employment and if said person otherwise qualifies there should not be an issue. If however a mental health issue prevents an individual from qualifying ie; inability to perform required job performance then the employer is not required to hire them.
Not true. There must be reasonable accommodations for a disabled employee. For instance, more breaks if that helps. Small businesses are protected though. If you have less than 15 employees, you are not required to hire a disabled person.

do you deliberately misinterpret context, or is it instinctive?

I was talking about availability, and that was obvious. In his first 4 seasons, Zion played in 114 games.. In Brandon Roy's first 4 seasons, he played 283 games. 283 vs 114....availability
Yes, I was simply saying Zion has been worth more than those guys so more worth the risk. Not debating you on the facts.

There's no reason at all to give Scoot away for anything less than a player we want. His value is only going to grow and stars will ask out of their situations as the season goes on. Move Scoot then. He's a generational point guard. If you don't like what you're being offered, don't give him up.
If you honestly believe this, and his play on the court reflects it… (which is pretty much the only way his value goes up)

It won’t be Scoot being traded. It’ll be Dame.

You're so normal and rational during 95% of the year, and trade deadline and draft/free agency hits and...

I know...right?

I mean, I've taken some hard line positions, before, and been wrong by the way, but Blazerkor is seriously locked into in a no-nuance-accepted-no-other-option-considered-has-to-be-all-settled-tomorrow position. He's usually flexible in his views but not the last 3 or 4 days. Completely entrenched

as I said, I really don't know what will happen but from everything I've heard and read, I don't think any team has come close to the kind of offer for 3 that would shift Portland off the pick. And I'm doubting that will change in the next 20 hours. Yeah, it's possible, but seems rather improbable

and if so, then the Blazers will make the best of the Dame/Scoot situation. Maybe Dame will ask out later this summer; maybe by the trade deadline; maybe never. But this strange notion he's either already asked out (while in France) or will in the next 48 hours is just not logical, nor does it seem like the kind of thing Dame would do

I get the attraction of a Zion trade. I can see the possibilities if it works out perfectly. But I also see the probabilities of failure and the scale is really tilted in that direction

I was talking Mental disabilities, you are talking physical disabilities. New hires still must meet basic job qualifications. I had 80+ employees for about 15 years before I retired last year and had some employees that required reasonable accommodations but they still had to have the basic job skills and qualifications in order to be hired in the first place.

Okay okay. I've calmed down now. Obviously whatever happens tomorrow there will be more time. I am frustrated that Cronin hasn't been able to deliver anything that has made the team more competitive during his somewhat brief tenure but such is life. The meltdown is over at least for now. I'm hoping for something big but expecting us to take BPA at both 3 and 23. So we'll see what happens and everyone is right whatever it is there is a way to pivot from it later.

I have a feeling Scoot will win over the city pretty quickly.

Scoot is a franchise player. I will be pissed if they let him go. He has been playing in the G league for 2 years; NBA style ball, NBA coaches, against real men and he is killing it. He is more ready for the big time than any player on the board, #1 included

I don't accept that as true

Brandon Roy vs Zion--> 283 games vs 114 games--> 13M in salary vs 34M in salary

even allowing for a doubling of the cap, then Roy was at 26M in salary compared to Zion.

so then, how about a tale of the tape of their rookie scale deals:

games: Roy 283....Zion 114
points: Roy 5534....Zion 2941
rebounds: Roy 1253....Zion 793
assists: Roy 1365....Zion 409
winshares: Roy 35.4....Zion 14.2

total salary: Roy 26M....Zion 34M

tell me again how Zion was "worth more" than Roy. I hate it when people don't factor availability. It's one of the most important qualities in a player and Zion hasn't been available

Obviously Roy failed in his 5th season. But Portland got great value during his rookie scale. They paid Roy $92,000/game (adjusted). The Pels have paid Zion $300,000/game

Some people say it's the most important ability.

I know the draft shot starts at 5:00; but when does the actual draft start? I don't want to tune into a half hour of Stephen A Smith being obnoxious

ESPN has a preshow at 4:30 and a few articles I looked at said that Adam Silver will come out at 5 and say some shit before putting the Spurs on the clock. I don't know though because I can't find anything definitive from NBA.com or ESPN.

think he's already won over dame.

we just need to move Ant for a SF or PF while upgrading from Nurk, and you can open up like 25-30 mpg for Scoot to be the 6th man and third guard.

Here's a framework:

Dame / Scoot
Sharpe /
Grant / Thybulle
Collins / Wataford
Turner / ?

11 should be going to the Pacers and 23 to the Magic.

But this isn't happening. Indy isn't going to want to pick up another first round pick in this draft, and even if they were, I'm sure they could get more from Turner.
