Maxie, don't start a war.
Your new post says you have 1 post, so this is your first.
"Don't start a war" was a double entendre. I was thinking of this post. Sometimes I write things that I don't expect others to get.

When the hell did the Blazers win the championship?
Having lived with a torn meniscus before I had it removed, I can assure you he has some serious swelling this morning.
They're right. We look like idiots already making excuses for a series that hasn't started yet. I hope our players aren't like that. Stop bitching guys. Why would they fix it for Houston? The league knows the Blazers are going to be an elite team the next 5 years or so, so they are heavily promoting Damian Lillard as an All Star. Put him in 5 All Star events to showcase his talents for the casual fan. They need Lillard to get ratings so they must starting selling him during these playoffs.
Back to the actual series. I just heard Haynes on talking ball saying "do you remember how much smack beverley was talking after that game?" Was this highly publicized, because I don't remember it. I guess dame said he wants Houston... If beverley did indeed piss Lillard off then he better watch out. Us blazer fans know that the worst thing you can do is get under Lillards skin. If dame really said he wants to play beverley in a series then my confidence is through the roof, I would never bet against dames competitive spirit.
I've never bought into any of this bullshit. Bad calls happen, they happen in the blazers favor too.
As far as all this grooming nonsense. What came first, the chicken or the egg? It directly discredits Lillards body of work to say that he was "put" into all star events. Were we paid to draft him where we did? No. Dame has worked his ass off to be where he is. Was dame as big a name on all star week because the nba was high on him? Or has the nba been high on him because of what he's done to be such a big name on all star week? I believe it is the ladder, and to think anything else is practically saying that dame doesn't deserve what he's got.
Seeing how the refs allowed players to slap and grab last night, I wouldn't be surprised. As long as they allow us the same, it will be fine.
If they give harden the typical ghost calls, we are in for a long series.
Wes flops all the time. And he gets a calls because of it.
He's probably the biggest offender on our team, but he still doesn't hold a candle to all the guys who flop on the HOU team.
Allowing Houston to do it at all is bad, even if it's called both ways. We don't play that way. We're not cheap. We don't flop. We don't hold. The lack of calls favors the dirty team.
I agree, but we must learn to deal with this type of play if we want to advance in the playoffs. I thought we battled through it pretty well last night. We gotta keep that same mentality.
Faced with the way the refs reward the Floppets and Flop City, I'm a little confused by this philosophy. Do you mean that the refs call the flops against the Blazers because the Blazers aren't actually fouling, but if the Blazers actually hammer those cheating fuckers, the refs won't call it? Is it an alpha dog, respect thing? Subconsciously, the refs want to be dominated, so they role on their backs and reward aggressive players?Hoojacks made a great point above. If Portland can't be more physical and more aggressive then they have been in there previous matchups. That will be there issue and not the reffing.Lets face it this is a finesse team . Atleast everything we have seen. They need to change that if they expect to get calls.
I agree the players can't get distracted by it. I also believe that when a player flops, he should be Meyers Leonarded the very next play. Lay the fucker out, look at the ref, and say: "now that's a foul".I agree, but we must learn to deal with this type of play if we want to advance in the playoffs. I thought we battled through it pretty well last night. We gotta keep that same mentality.
