Its not that hard bud. Be better.

Is the fan base not full of high highs and low lows?

Grow some thicker skin. There are significantly more important things in life to worry about than some innocuous comment made on a message board.

You could have easily stated that instead of calling everyone bipolar knowing full well there are people open about their journey with that here.

Its not thicker skin needed bud, it's sticking up for others.

Here is a video from a Miami Heat fan that was hoping the Heat could pick him up. Props to him for going out on a limb.

damn for a 7 footer he looks way more fluid than I initially thought. Spin moves, dunks from distance, nice baby hook form distance. This kid definitely has some potential. I’m excited to see him in summer league.

he is neither a good fit nor was he bpa at 11/16. this is a drastic overreach by a gm who has job security without oversight.

Like I said in my initial post today, I have no idea how this plays out. I do think that Schmitz and the Blazers' other scouting crew are good, so I'm hoping for the best. I don't think that your statement about Cronin bears too much scrutiny. With new ownership coming this summer, his job is certain to be in play. If Yang is a bust, I expect Cronin will be out of a job pretty quickly.

Here's one thing to ponder/consider.

With the trade they made, they get 2 2nd rounders and a 1st round pick.

Could that have been the best offer they received for the 11th pick? As in, maybe the offers they received didn't include a future 1st in addition to draft assets in the future AND a pick this year?

I mean, if you told me the options were drafting Kaspar at 11 (which clearly would've been a reach since he dropped to 20th), and that's it VS taking a flier on MmmBop AND get a future 1st plus 2 future 2nd round picks, I'd probably lean towards the 2nd package.

Maybe that was the best offer they got. And maybe that future 1st (in 28) is a safety net in case they have to, at that point, give Chicago the 1st round pick and it means they can't swap with the Bucks.

Maybe no other team was offering what they got, and if that's the case it's probably a smart trade. Takes a shot at a guy who could be a decent player + save them potentially from losing a draft pick in 28 AND accumulate more 2nd round picks to sacrifice to the basketball gods when they finally build a new stadium.

I was shocked that they got a FRP to move back from 11-16.
Now, if it was moving back from 5-11, then sure, but 11-16? That seems like a lot....Unless I was right about Coward.

And for those who suggest they get another 1st for moving back from 16, who would do it that late in the draft. Blazer fans would go ape shit if we gave up a future FRP pick for #16. (plus this year's pick in the 20s)

Denver did not spend two lottery picks on their bigs when they employed this strategy.
Nukic and Yang were both #16 picks!

The 2024 draft last year was so weak that #7 was probably about the value of pick #37?

They didn't have to. No one was on to Jokic. No one knew who he was. Minnesota and at least one other team, I think I heard Brooklyn were interested in drafting Yang first round #17 and #19.

The Blazers are in love with “projects.” Have you noticed this? While other teams draft players with solid credentials from strong college programs who are universally regarded as top prospects, we go after the guys on the fringe who “might” turn into great players someday if everything works out and we keep our fingers crossed: Qyntel Woods, Darius Miles, Martell Webster, Travis Outlaw, Sebastian Telfair, Anfernee Simons, Shaedon Sharpe, and Hansen Yang.

What explains the Blazer’s fascination with high-risk players? Is it the conviction that they have to look harder for future stars because they know proven NBA stars never choose Portland as a destination?
Literally nobody working at the Blazers today has anything to do with that history. Paul Allen died, Trader Bob and Nash were long ago fired with a half dozen GM's in between, multiple Blazer presidents, Cronin wasn't even a lowly salary cap assistant yet.

Now if you want to lump Simons/Sharpe/Yang together please feel free. But the ancient history just isn't relevant at all to how the team is being built today.

Windy was getting texts from Malika as the hosts had the results 30 seconds before the announcement so they can get ready.
Maybe, but 4 of the 5 guys there are knew it was Yang as well, also they were secretly mentioned it way more than 30 seconds before the pick.

This kid's footwork is elite. High BBIQ.
Court mapping is a skill that does not get measured at combine, and I believe he has it.
Willing passer. Everything I love about centers.
Can't wait for summer league.
I also believe Jrue and RW3 are heading to Denver for MPJ and 2031 pick.
That still leaves Grant and Ayton. I believe Grant is heading to Bulls for Ball and Ayton to GSW in S&T for Kuminga.
We get bench of Ball, Thybule, Kuminga, MPJ and Yang.
Deep as hell. Do it Joe!!!
Wow very creative trade ideas -

too lazy to look it up but i believe even Denver themselves drafted another player ahead of Jokic on the same draft

Jokic didn't play for the Nuggets after that 2014 draft, he played another year in Serbia.

In 2015 Jokic came over as a rookie with the Nuggets 2015 #7 lotto pick Emmanuel Mudiay.
