Love it. Even though we got him in his elder years, he has an argument for best player to have ever played for us.View attachment 74272
In Scottie we trust.

Given that peak Walton was a blazers Walton, that argument is null and voidLove it. Even though we got him in his elder years, he has an argument for best player to have ever played for us.
Its not that hard bud. Be better.
Agreed. Yang has a very good skillset and needs to get stronger. Beringer's only obvious talent is shot blocking. Of the two, Yang's weaknesses, no pun intended, will be a lot easier to address. I can see Beringer making the occasional wow play, but Yang's assets makes him more set up for a longer, more impactful career. As far as a prospect goes.
Yang at 16 >>> Berringer at 17 (this was a much larger reach IMO)
Welcome to bump that MF at any time my man!I see some people are calming down and startng to see the big picture. Nice to read. The many meltdowns last night should have prompted the meltdown thread.
@kjironman1 … slackin bro…

You have to admit that was an off the charts bad draft from the way the lotto went down to last night pretty much couldn’t get much worse for the Bkazers.
Happy to talk to you more in depth why I disagree with what you said. I'd rather not continue to flood this thread with my response.Or people can learn to control their offended emotions more?
its like nothing can be said anymore, for fear of someone being offended.
When does it end and people crawl out of their safe bubbles and join the real world, which is not kind or easy?
Be better or grow some skin?
gotta walk on eggshells to have any type of real talk anymore. Part of why I think communication is devolving.
With that said, if someone asks to not be called something, it is incredibly selfish and rude to continue to do so.
I don’t know?100% disagree. But thats the beauty of opinions not being facts.![]()

Watching Dallas trade Luka then making the playin and losing only to get the number one pick and San Antonio getting the second pick with the Blazers dropping from 8 to 11 then drafting a guy most feel would have been available in the second round with our traded for second round pick.
Hmmmm. Sounds pretty bad to me.
This all after three years of tanking.
Sure would have been nice to lose that last game vs the Spurs though.Oh i gotcha. Not what we did last night, but the process overall.
This is why I'm so against tanking. We could have had the worst record last year and we still weren't getting the top pick.
People upset we didn't drop more games put waayyyy too much value in a couple of percentage points of change in our chances.
Plus, nobody would ever know any better if they didn't actually have Yang as the bpa. Bpa is whatever the FO says at a press conference. He could have been behind a few guys on their board, but those higher ranked guys were low ceiling at positions of strength.I was just being a smart-ass because I remember that what Olshey said after drafting Meyers was remarkably similar to what Cronin said yesterday
I've always thought the BPA argument was hollow boiler-plate bullshit. No team intentionally drafts the 4th best player available. BPA is so subjective it's devolved to meaningless deflection. Every draft bust was drafted as BPA. The judgement was just bad
and yes, I know that every once in a while a team might draft for need, but I'd estimate that most of those times they still think their choice is BPA
Couldn't agree more.Literally nobody working at the Blazers today has anything to do with that history. Paul Allen died, Trader Bob and Nash were long ago fired with a half dozen GM's in between, multiple Blazer presidents, Cronin wasn't even a lowly salary cap assistant yet.
Now if you want to lump Simons/Sharpe/Yang together please feel free. But the ancient history just isn't relevant at all to how the team is being built today.
Yeah the Blazers were 13-28 in mid January. Blazer fans all had dreams of Flagg or a consolation prizes of the other top prospects like Ace Bailey who eventually went 5th.I don’t know?

I didn't think it was Hansen cuz he has a lot of conditioning and strength work still to do.by the way this is Jokic’s pre draft report
Weaknesses: An average athlete lacking great speed and leaping ability … Foot speed is a big liability. He may struggle to stay in front of NBA athletes at the center position … Needs to improve as a post player, gain strength and develop a repertoire of back to the basket moves … Defense is a real weakness at this point due to lack of lateral speed and lack of strength. His length is a big plus, but he’ll need to continue to work on becoming stronger and learn to anticipate in order to overcome his lack of quickness … Despite being a younger guy, his upside appears limited by his lack of explosiveness and foot speed …
damn for a 7 footer he looks way more fluid than I initially thought. Spin moves, dunks from distance, nice baby hook form distance. This kid definitely has some potential. I’m excited to see him in summer league.
