I've never understood why people compare complete careers, or the stats from people who are older and further along in their development, to that of younger players.

(not saying you are doing this, at least I don't think you are).

Sometimes players take longer to develop then people think. Look at Steve Nash. He didn't average double figures until he was 26, and in his 5th season. Tyson Chandler didn't really come into his own until he was about 23-25.

Many players would've been given up and cast aside early in their careers in the eyes of many fans.

Kind of seems like this comp makes a pretty good case for waiting another 2 years and seeing what you’ve got.

Yang has a high ceiling but he should be with the Remix for the remainder of the season.

Desperately needs reps. He’s nowhere close to being ready for NBA pace.

Yeah, he definitely should show something (I hope so) over the next 2+ years, to indicate he's worth it. From what I have seen, (albeit INCREDIBLY SMALL SAMPLE SIZE), I like it. He cannot (nor do I hope/think he will) stay at this level. But I'm not too worried.

He has shown some flashes of what he could be, but I don't know what he'll end up being. Too soon to know.

One issue I have (not with him necessarily) is how the G-league is like the equivalent to A ball, when the NBA needs AA at worst, and AAA most likely.

Certainly the way I see it. Get him as much time playing as possible and then work really hard this next summer on some moves.
This as well as learning the language might get him some PT next year which again might help a bunch.

And IMHO, him being on the RCR is in no way a bad thing. If he ends up being a solid pro, no one will care that he spent time down there.

Chinese fans are all over X complaining

Some local fans even want a refund for their season tickets

Why he’s not getting reps with the Remix is beyond me - he looks lost most of the time.

This can be addressed and worked on in the G League.

Yang clearly needs consistent experience with NBA pace and he’s not going to get it playing spot/garbage minutes

Yang will be fine he’s young big. They almost always take time to develop. There are really two things you can’t teach in basketball elite athleticism and elite BBIQ. Both have a chance to be special.

Non athletic but smart bigs
Lopez
Jokic
Sabonis
Gasol

What I like hearing coming out of camp is Yang looked really good against Clingan and there were times he was the better of the two. I’d still like to see him have a game or two this year where he puts up a double double.

Kind of wondering if the are preparing him to play bigger role since they are likely going to trade RWill at trade deadline. He and RWill both played together last night, I assume to get him minutes

I've seen some grainy vids of Sabonis when he was young and he was athletic.
