I'd give them three to get Davis and get rid of Turner. Gotta get Mirotic in that deal.

Do you think the Pels would want to lose 2 of their best big men without getting a legit big man starter like Nurkic back? I think that's their biggest need, even if it's just Davis going out. I just don't see any starting point for Portland without including Nurkic. At least that's how I would feel if I was New Orleans. I also think from what I have read is that the Pels would like multiple picks in later drafts so that they can spread out their picks rather than bunch them into one draft.

We're not going after Davis from what I read today..we're going after Marc Gasol and a wing player...according to the rumors we're going hard at the Gasol trade...seems to be Neil's number one target

Can they? A lot can happen if they wait. What if Kyrie bolts? What if Tatum is dominant in the playoffs ?

I really don't think they will include Tatum in the deal. So the only thing that really separates Boston from everyone else....... are the draft picks. The players are about equal with the other teams, but the multi picks is what would intrigue me. I would demand 4 #1 picks.

Boston's Picks
2019
Sacramento Kings’ top-1 protected pick

Memphis Grizzlies (If pick falls outside top-8)

Los Angeles Clippers (If pick falls outside top-14)

Own pick

2020
Memphis Grizzlies (If pick has not yet been conveyed and falls outside top-6)

Los Angeles Clippers (If pick has not yet been conveyed and falls outside top-14)

Own pick

I really don’t think there is any trade that makes sense for New Orleans that does not include Lakers or Boston. Unless Philadelphia come and offer you Ben Simmons there’s really no deal that makes sense. IMO there are two paths I would take if I were them but some moves are basically universal in both of them.

First couple of moves:
  • Trade Mirotic to Sixers for their 2019 first round pick and an expiring or Fultz
  • Look for a new home for Jrue Holiday, preferred destinations being Dallas and Indiana. Either get Smith and Matthews expiring or Sabonis and a bunch of expiring contracts
You get some extra young assets and ensure that you don’t finish with more than 32 wins this year which should be good for no. 8 pick or better.

Then you either:
  • Trade AD to Lakers and get back their 2019 first round pick, Ingram, Kuzma, Ball and 2021 pick
  • Wait until Summer and trade AD to Boston and get back Tatum, Smart plus Grizzlies pick (they can’t really get any of their 2019 picks as they can only trade for him after July 1)
You are left with a few solid young players, future picks and own at least two and possibly 3 or 4 first rounders in 2019. That’s a solid reboot here.
Technically true, but there are ways around it.... NO & Boston can have a trade in place. Boston can pick the players NO wants and consummate the transaction a few days later on July 1.

No reason why they can't come to an agreement before the draft...right? They just can't finalize it.
Boston drafts for NO? They seem to do this all the time on draft night.

Why would we go after Gasol?

Awfully risky to trust Kyrie to stay in free agency and to wait for a deal where lots of things can go wrong. What if Jaylen Brown tears his ACL in the playoffs?

Um they can't trade for Davis until after free agency starts.

If they don’t trade Davis before the trade deadline chances are a lot better he goes to Boston imo. And let’s not act like players and agents and GMs don’t talk to each other about joining up.

Acces denied in Germany can't read it :(

PORTLAND, Ore. — The Trail Blazers have "made [an] aggressive offer" for Memphis Grizzlies center Marc Gasol, according to national NBA reporter Steve Kyler.

The Blazers are the top team to watch in trade talks for Gasol, a three-time All-Star and former NBA Defensive Player of the Year, according to Kyler, who has covered the NBA for the past 17 seasons and is currently editor and publisher of Basketball Insiders.

KGW reached out to Kyler and he said sources close to the situation have told him that the "Blazers made [an] aggressive offer for Gasol" and that if Gasol is moved, the "Blazers seem to want him."

In an article published Tuesday, Kyler reported that the Blazers are the most likely team to land the 7-foot-1 Gasol if the Grizzlies trade their veteran center. Kyler did not report what the Blazers offered for Gasol.

Almost a week ago, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the Grizzlies plan to listen to trade offers for their franchise stars leading up to the February 7 trade deadline. Wojnarowski reported that Memphis is looking for a combination of young talent, draft picks and salary-cap relief in a trade for either Gasol or Conley.

Gasol, who turned 34 on Tuesday, is due $24.1 million this season, but can become a free agent this summer if he declines his $25.6 million player option.

The two-time All-NBA center is averaging 15.7 points, 8.7 rebounds, 4.7 assists, 1.3 blocks and 1.2 steals per game in 33.7 minutes per game this season. He's shooting 44.4 percent from the field and 35.6 percent on 4.2 3-point attempts per game.

The Blazers are being aggressive leading up to the trade deadline, according to Kyler.

"More and more NBA teams label the Blazers as the team to watch at the deadline," he wrote. "There is at least a desire by management to explore what they can add to push them legitimately into the championship discussion."

Thank you. Thumbs up

That includes Nurkic

Ok, I didn't see that part as this thread seems to move fast at times. I just think the opening comment from the Pels is start with Nurkic and then they work from there if they are at all interested.
