Would you include him in a trade for Porter or Griffin?
This is kinda what I was thinking. He's prolly as valuable as a mid first round pick maybe.

The contract and age are hurdles, but I think he's worth more than our lotto protected pick. Depends on the team. Unfortunately, we probably value him more than everyone else.

PORTLAND / NEW YORK TRADE

Portland sends (unloads):

SF Harkless
C Leonard
G Stauskas
2-round pick

New York sends:

C Kanter (expiring)
SF Knox (rookie contract + SF prospect)

Question???????????

Why would NY not block our number for even offering something so insanely lopsided in our favor?

Here's a rumor from SN: http://www.sportingnews.com/us/nba/...l-ahead-of-deadline/ozme31r2gp7t1dkvs6urld2jp

The real market for members of the Grizzlies, league sources told Sporting News, is in other players on the roster, especially power forward JaMychal Green and guard Garrett Temple. Several teams this week have expressed interest in one or both players, including Portland and Charlotte.

"[The Grizzlies] want picks. They want to rebuild," one front-office executive said. "They’ve given away a lot in the draft, and they need to find ways to get that back. A guy like Green can have a role on any team as a rebounder, and he’s been better offensively. A guy like Temple can come in and help anyone.

JaMychal is a nice fit for this team. A legit stretch 4 that can crash the offensive glass. Hell to the yes.

Jamychal Green as our starting PF? Yes please.

are we sure he's an upgrade over Aminu? I like Temple though. Seems like a good vet presence.

I don't want either of these guys in exchange for our pick unless we can also shed salary in the process.

Meyers + Swanigan + 2 2nd Round Picks? Would that be enough to get the Deal done ?

He's a better shooter and offense rebounder. Aminu is probably a better on-ball defender. I think Green is a better fit for a team that needs to pick up the pace and space the floor.

Tough call, I guess. He shoots, rebounds, and blocks better, but also turns the ball over more. I can't speak to his defense because I don't watch the Grizzlies, but the metrics appear positive.

Feels like an upgrade to me, but I could be wrong.

I'd like to see a starting lineup with Green and Layman as the forwards (which will never happen). The offense would have such better cutting and pace.

The both expiring contract so need to send at least Leonard or Harkless in the trade. They did mention and 2nd round include who ever the players are in the trade.

Piece of crap guy? Why? Cuz he punched out that trainer? Hasn't he been a consummate leader in Detroit?

Um yes. And no IDGAF about his past 45 games in Detroit. So what?

Was that the same trainer he tried to force down to his crotch?

I would give up our first if they took on Leonard, Moe, or Turner. I don’t see how a deal would work otherwise because I can’t see Olshey trading Aminu for either one.

I don't really know why but I've never been a fan of Jamychal Green. I don't think he's really too much of an upgrade over Aminu.

Temple is okay, not really an upgrade either.

They're both expiring so it's worth pursuing. Personally I'd rather have Prince and Dedmon/Lin if we're giving up a 1st so it's not purely a salary dump trade. I could probably be talked into Turner and a 1st for both Green and Temple but would explore other options first.

Trade Meyers, Turner, 1st for Kevin Love and Rodney Hood

Trade Baldwin and a second to Chicago for Carmelo

Green is of some interest to me. Garrett, not so much.

Since they are both expiring, if it is a way they can dump a salary, then maybe okay. Memphis is looking for 2nd round picks in addition to whatever else they get....of which the Blazers don't own a 2nd round pick until 2021.

Here’s a rumor I just started..

Por 2020 1st to Atlanta

Pels get Simons for a year of Harks contract

Atl gets a Por 1st for a year of Nards contract

I don’t see Green as an upgrade over Chief at all, and i don’t even like Chief, they both look a lot better as bench peices imo.

I really hope we are aiming higher.

2 years of bad contracts for 5 years of bad contract and bad health. Pass.

A young, healthy Love would be over-paid and over-rated. An aging, broken down Love is just plain bad. A 35 year old Love is a nightmare.

JaMychal Green is no better than Al-Farouq Aminu. I don't understand why we'd trade for him unless we got him back as part of a salary dump. I have doubts whether this rumor is even real.

If nothing else, I’d say we’ve been connected to more names now than in recent memory. Don’t know what it means, but I also think we’re in better position to be buyers, standings wise. Not sure about asset wise.

I think it's important to note that just about every rumor involves expiring deals.
