...my toddlers are 4.5yo and 2.5yo and I just yelled YESSSS at top of lungs after Toumani Blocks!!! They didn't budge fwiw :biglaugh:
Mine are 3.5 and just over 2. They don't seem to sleep when i want them to. Easier to just let them watch with me.

I guess that was a game you can feel good about and still be a loss. Certainly was exciting. They played well enough to win. They tightened up the defense and pushed the game to OT. Lots to be positive about.
There will be some teaching moments throughout the season and i would assume that game will be used for a few of them.

Honestly this road trip taught us one very very important thing. Shae is the future of this franchise and there is no doubt about it. We need to remove anything in his way of realizing that.
Yeah he was rising to the occasion throughout this trip.
I liked the fire he is starting to show. Not playing shy at all. He's starting to impose his will a bit more. Kid will be very special for sure if this continues.

I am not exactly sure what you are suggesting. We need multiple players who can score in crunch time. One is not enough. But yes at some point Shae will be option number 1. But he needs to show it over a longer period before we start removing anyone who might threaten that. I think once he becomes the dominant player on the team, his teammates will defer. But his last 5 games have been very encouraging.

Too much adrenaline. Got raging insomnia.

Cats never get insomnia. They have it good. Lashanna playing with one of her toys, which is good since it means she ins't playing with my watch, glasses, knitting needle.....

a part of me wonders how we'd look with dame in place of scoot/brogdon/rwIII right now. the nurk+little + keon for ayton+tou trade was still there w/ or w/o Dame.

I'm not sure that's true. My guess is that Phoenix placed a lot of value on getting Grayson Allen as part of the trade. He's a starter for them; 3rd on the team in minutes. Kind of a Mikal Bridges replacement without the lock-down defense. Allen is shooting .465 on three's so far

Dame by himself kind of tanks a defense. Bucks are 20th. Yeah we'd be better, I don't think we would be contenders.

well, in those terms, Ant, by himself, definitely tanks a defense, and you just said you want to see Ant starting at PG

I do agree that with how Sharpe and Camara have been playing, and the impact the two are having, the only logical starting position for Ant is PG. And, arguably, Brogdon is a better starting PG than Ant. Bringing Ant back and benching Sharpe; or playing Sharpe out of position at SF and benching Camara; makes little sense. It would be difficult to justify either scenario. Benching Brogdon makes a lot more sense considering he was 6thMOY last season

what would make the most sense is Ant as 6th man and Scoot as his running mate until Scoot is ready to resume the start at PG. But that won't happen...probably

So is that officially, his nickname?

typical that when that play happened the idiot stats guy was babbling again. You know, the stats guy that apparently doesn't understand variance. It's hard enough to listen sometimes but I immediately hit mute when that clown starts yapping

Is that true? I’ve seen for more than one season, reports that Dame wanted DA in Portland. But for that to ever have been a possibility during Dame’s tenure, Nurk was going to have to be gone, right?

no, I don't think it's true at all. Just another part of the 'Dame as GM' fable that placed more misdirected blame on Dame for the decade of purgatory, than on the GM(s) and ownership that were actually responsible

Blazers broadcasting foolishly hit the Tom Hamberblab monologue button in 2 minute crunchtime. The already compressed, out of focus ROOT signal got even worse in p.i.p. mode, as we watched a very blurry Shaedon soar through the air for a big time poster dunk. Followed seconds afterwards by Toumani's mega-slam.

The Blazer broadcast was soo bad, ESPN & NBA had to use Utah's film & announcers in the post game highlights. Jaw dropping dunks with a slight whisper of "the Blazers have very athletic players."

The big gripe i have is grant went out for the rest of the game. They showed one quick replay of it and nothing more. Would have liked to see at least one other angle and maybe a follow up at the end of the game?

no good replay of scoot not getting fouled either.
The other thing is they will pull off the Tom dude and go back to the game but leave the smaller screen up with data for way way way too long. We aren't first grade readers. I bought an 80” tv for a reason. I feel like they are in cahoots with the tv makers, forcing me to go larger now just to get my full screen back.
Gimme my full screen back dammit! :)

I went back and watched the Utah Jazz version of the game and they DID NOT CUT OUT the last possession of the first half.

Who the fuck decides to interrupt the game with 4 seconds left in the first half, instead of actual live play?

The Blazer Broadcasting choice of what to show ( a layup 2 plays ago instead of the foul that just happened) and when to show it is really bad.

They didn't know they were getting Grayson. Cronin kept the player's identity secret until the last second so as to not implode the multi-team trade, providing only size/position hints and telling Phoenix it was a player they would like. As such, any player of value could have been substituted into that trade roll.

Your assumption is not true.

Yeah, I was like what the hell are they doing bringing him on this late in the game and taking up the screen. And, then Shae dunks the hell out of it. They have the whole game to bring him on and they choose then?

They should only bring him on when the Blazers have a good lead. Nobody wants to hear his stats and him pretending to guess the answers to questions while using a computer off screen while we are losing. No thanks. Already annoying enough.

Near the end of the 3rd quarter last night, Blazer Broadcasting viewers saw this:

at the same moment in time, Utah Jazz broadcasting viewers saw this:

Blazer Broadcasting interrupted an entire Utah Jazz possession, from baseline to baseline, to show an interview with Jabari Walker and Shaedon Sharpe. Not even one of their useless replays.

I don't believe that for a second

The Utah Jazz play-by-play guy: Now that's interesting. They're going all the way back to the 2:55 mark?? (surprised). At that point the game clock was at 1:36.

"Now that changes the complexity of this game in one big way." The Blazers went from a 3-point lead to a tie game, 103-103.

"Kudos to the officials." Really??

Forearm in the back, arms of other defender, Yurtseven, are NOT straight up.
This happened with 17 seconds left in the game and the Blazers down by 2, 113-115.

I'm lucky to live out of market so I can use NBA league pass and watch the opposing team's broadcasts. The Blazers are so bad, from the directing, to that analytics "expert", to the announcers. One of the worst in the league.

Besides not interrupting live game play, the Jazz replays were much better, from several angles. I suppose that's because the game was in their arena?

Yeah, the analytics expert interaction is irritating. But I think Calabro is way better this year than in the past.

Woj spelled it out pretty clearly that they did not. They were told position and salary, Milwaukie wanted to make sure their involvement was jot leaked

again...I don't believe Phoenix had no clue about the player coming in or the team Portland was talking to. It was a pretty limited list of teams that would have an interest in Dame, and a SG making around 9M on an expiring contract was going to make it a pretty simple process of elimination

Yes this was reported, Phoenix suspected it was Allen or maybe one other player.

The idea Cronin could have just pushed a ton of different players easily available into that trade is wrong.
