Nothing against Ant but his game drives me crazy. He draws so many defenders and could easily get 7-8 assist a game but instead he forces tough shots. Obviously he’ll have some games like tonight where he puts up decent scoring but think he’d be even better if he’d sacrifice some of his scoring to set up teammates. He’s a 2 guard playing pg

not excited, at all, about Grant & Simons leading the Blazers to a counter-productive win.

more than that is seeing Houston the last 2 games, I'm shocked they are 12-6. They look like a team that would struggle to hit the .500 mark

Funny I was thinking Ant should have gotten more assists because he did draw the defenders and found his teammates for open shots..... that were missed. Did he take a few tough shots in 37 minutes? Sure. Did they share the ball when he was in? Absolutely. When he and Shae and Deni were in the game together there was a lot of good ball movement. Overall Ant had a great game tonight....as did Deni and SS and Grant and DC.

Am I right in thinking Clingan now has 17 straight games with a block? I saw the graphic a couple of games ago that he was tied with Walton for consecutive games with a block as a rookie or something. I like those kind of “short list” stats because it helps gauge where he could end up.

Chauncey said "We got to do a better job of getting our main offensive players the ball and playing through them."

Who is we? You're the coach. Your stupid offense is the problem.

Tonight Shaedon Sharpe had one possession (2:27 4th quarter) where he (as he rarely does) got the ball starting at the far end of the court when Jerami Grant flipped him the ball after a Grant rebound.

Sharpe was able to , all by himself without assistance, dribble the ball the entire length of the court, attack the hoop, and get fouled.

To me, this should be half of the possessions when Sharpe is in the game. Sharpe is capable of hitting threes, driving the lane or passing out.

Deni Avdija (or Banton etc) being the middle man, that is Chauncey Billups' call.

How often do we see possessions like this during a game? 1-5? 0-5 times?

What we see time after time is someone else bringing up the ball and Sharpe standing in the corner. It's baloney.

Is anyone else curious where the Blazers broadcasting is getting their stats? Their graphic shows the Blazers with like 67 rebounds, when ESPN has them at 53.

And they seem to have those stats screwy all season too.
In a cost saving effort @THE HCP has been given extra responsibilities this season, he records rebounds with the same enthusiasm that he measures length.

Impressive win.

Nice to see Ant have a big 4th. Will be interested how he follows up as his play next game. He had been horrible this season.

Clingan and Deni with monster games.

Sharpe was good, but feels like he is leaving some opportunities on the table. Grant offense was great for stretches.

Camara has had some rough periods on offense. He needs to shoot without hesitation when open. But slow down and pick his spots he creates better. Should watch film of an older Shane Battier.

Not sure what Blazer team I'll see next game, some games looks like we are by far the worst team in the league. Then others looks like we can compete with the best teams.

Simons has to play because Scoot is out. And Grant did nothing wrong, just took what the defense gave him. Sharpe still got his shots. Nothing counterproductive. Esp since our rookie got big minutes and Murray did well.

I was a little surprised that Jabari didn't see some minutes considering we were short on centers last night, but our small lineup worked, so I have to give the staff credit, because I think playing Walker when we were light inside would have been the natural move but maybe not the best one.

I was more surprised that they kept going back to Murray rather than giving Reith a few minutes. It worked, though. It did what it needed to.

I am enjoying a win and it was nice seeing Ant have a good game and not interrupt the team’s current success.[/QUOTE

Deni played so well at small ball C that the only time we'll see Jabari is likely in garbage time unless we have a ton of injuries or trade Ayton and Timelord

Reath has consistently been bad this year.

Jabari has two years of not being able to hit threes at even 30%. We have decent rebounding this year and horrible offense so there isn't any role for Jabari.

The rockets look like a better version of us. They also have no good offensive players, but they got better defensive players and more talent overall.
That's not fair! They have ONE good offensive player. (Actually two, because Sheppard will be, as he'll probably demonstrate if VanVleet gets suspended.)

In his last 6 games Shaedon Sharpe is averaging 23.3 PPG on 59% True shooting. Taking 7 3s a game shooting 41.8% on them

The Blazers are 4-2 in those games as well.
I just wish he didn't always look like he was half asleep. It's all the more glaring alongside players like Deni and Camara who race up the court. Shaedon practically strolls.

Good win and not counter productive. I think you have to play your hardest before January anyway to see what you have… there’s plenty of time to tank in January and beyond if you aren’t making waves.
