The issue with him bringing up white violence is nobody is denying it. Yeah no shit, white people make up what? 70 percent of America? don't you think it's kind of alarming that blacks make up 13 percent and there is that much black on black crime going on? Dviss is what we call a a victim. One of those dudes that has white friends that constantly tell him how he is a victim of society and all this shit, hence why he used the word whitesplaining. It's the type of shit that has brainwashed him thinking a white dude like me can't have an opinion on black issues and if I do have an opinion, I am just the fucking worst. Get a grip, have a conversation without tripping out.I don't understand this mindset.... how will we ever address violence in general if we don't talk about it? And how can we talk about it if we can only share our opinions about violence against people of our same race? I just think it's the wrong way of looking at things.
I'm curious about that 84% of white on white crime..... does that include suicides? Domestic violence? I know that a large portion of gun violence in general is from suicides, which is terribly sad, but I also think it changes the way we should look at gun violence.
The best way to address violence is to look at the cause. Not all violence is caused by the same thing. I suspect that gang violence can really be traced back to the war on drugs, which is a whole other issue in and of itself. If drugs were legalized, how much of that violence would go down? The war on drugs is a horrible thing that has affected a great many people.
Our country has gotten involved in global politics because of genocide. We interceded in Somalia. We went to Serbia. We get involved when there is senseless killing going on. Why can't we do it in our own country? Was it "whitesplaining" when we sent troops to Somalia? Were we whitesplaining to the Somali warlords who were preventing aid from getting to starving people? Sometimes an issue is bigger than black and white, and to disregard someone's opinion (if it is a constructive one) simply because they're white is silly to me, and not productive.
Could you fucking imagine if a black person was talking about some white issue and I came in like "I don't need you to fucking blacksplain me, you are an oppressor, etc....
for fucks sake
