I never hear anybody talk about how bad this is every year. Chicago. Just how many young black men die in Chicago by gun violence/gang violence. Why doesn't the black lives matter group talk about it? I mean apparently these black lives do not matter to progressives, they would rather ignore it and stick to the narrative that white cops hunt and gun down unarmed black men. Why isn't this a bigger issue to people? it's practically a war zone and nobody is doing anything about it? has the victimization of black people as a whole caused people to not say anything? why do black lives matter only matter when the crime is done by a white person? The numbers are staggering. 261 killed in 2017 alone so far

Chicago has long been near the top of the list of Black murders/Homicides.
But here is the thing. And I don't know the facts, I am asking.
Did you look at how many of those 261 were black on Black?
I have a hunch the majority are, and that would be why sects like BlackLivesMatter wouldn't want to bring it up or focus/bring to light, the subject.

I am not saying right or wrong either way, but this world has alot built off of respect and trust. That's what loans are about after all right?
Whether it makes sense, adds up or not, when respect is not giving within ones own family/race, then it is difficult for anyone on the outside to then give respect to them in return.

To put it another way, when a breed eats its young or own, most other breeds will not look up to them, but only fear/think less of. This goes for insects, amphibians, and humans. Its nature... unfortunately.

If, and I say this without fear and ONLY respect. If the Black race could truly unify and stop beating each other down and truly focus positive energy to the injustices they have endured over the centuries, with a want to end it and move forward peacefully, we would be living in a completely different world, and probably better one. It's well known that some of the best leaders, just and honest come from harsh times in childhood. Saw the wrongs at an early age and live their lives to fix them.

Just sayin... we ALL need to stop eating our young....Its one of the first steps in all of us getting along and living peacefully.

I didn't look but I would assume most are minorities. Many of those bad neighborhoods are majority minority as well. i kinda just find it hypocritical, you have it in the name, "black lives matter" and they are always there whenever there is an injustice with the police and a black person BUT when there is consistent black on black crime nobody wants to talk about it or try to help. It baffles me and it's sad that these young kids are brainwashed from their childhood, into these gangs, no father, no education. It produces very serious mental illnesses and bad seeds. I hate hearing about it man, I hate hearing stories about kids getting killed in their room because they were doing their homework and it was a stray bullet that hit them or look no further than D wades cousin who was walking and got caught by a stray. I am not saying every black person their is a bad seed because there are plenty who try to get out of it and live their life but a majority are killing each other every day or trying to
 
Blacks are their own worst enemy, killing each other for money, drugs, or gang initiations, but they'd like you to believe they are all victims of murderous racism by caucasians.

Racist killings are actually very rare in America, considering we are the most melted pot in the world.
 
Chicago is great if you stay in luxury boutique hotels. My hotel last time had a "no guns" sign lolz.

Just go through and look at some of the threads on this forum that talk about police violence. All you'll see is fucking black on black crime comments and comments about Chicago. Have you been under a fucking rock?

We don't need people to Whitesplain how we need to fix our problems. We don't need you as our white saviors because you've never been them before.

White people have been our oppressors....

There are many many white people that don't give a shit about what's happening in Chicago and only use it as a cudgel against us when we complain about police violence.... Some are in this forum. So fuck all of those people who fucking do that shit!!

It's like the London attacks. People here jump on the twitter and Facebook to chime in and look so caring and sad. When in reality they don't really give a fuck (this is their cue to get mad to look even more caring)

Same with Chicago. If we ain't there we don't give a shit.

I could give a fuck less what anybody thinks about that term. I will use it and use it everyday because it happens to me every fucking day. White people coming in trying to tell us how to fix our problems when really they don't give a shit. It's nothing new.

Just realized why I don't like whitesplaining. It's because you're right that deep down I really don't give a shit. I think things are right and wrong... example.... Cop pulls me over for bullshit and gives me a ticket. I'M FURIOUS.

Cop pulls over Orion Bailey and does same shit I think it's fucked up but I'm not losing sleep over it.

Back to mansplaining, I guess I'm visualizing someone saying "pull your pants up sonny and go to school and get a job" and them expecting that to fix everything. Or telling inner city kids to go to a library :)

Nobody cares what I think so I'll just continue to state my displeasure with a given situation and if anyone cares I'll tell them what I would do. The max thing is a perfect example, got major heat because it didn't seem to me like anyone should have died (except the nutjob) but they did.

No one talks about? As dviss said, it is very much talked about. I see people like Joy-Ann Reid on her program talking about it. I hear Black Lives Matter, yes, talking about it. So someone who does not follow a discussion claims it isn't happening but he is an expert? I don't blame dviss for being pissed off.

I don't understand this mindset.... how will we ever address violence in general if we don't talk about it? And how can we talk about it if we can only share our opinions about violence against people of our same race? I just think it's the wrong way of looking at things.

I'm curious about that 84% of white on white crime..... does that include suicides? Domestic violence? I know that a large portion of gun violence in general is from suicides, which is terribly sad, but I also think it changes the way we should look at gun violence.

The best way to address violence is to look at the cause. Not all violence is caused by the same thing. I suspect that gang violence can really be traced back to the war on drugs, which is a whole other issue in and of itself. If drugs were legalized, how much of that violence would go down? The war on drugs is a horrible thing that has affected a great many people.

Our country has gotten involved in global politics because of genocide. We interceded in Somalia. We went to Serbia. We get involved when there is senseless killing going on. Why can't we do it in our own country? Was it "whitesplaining" when we sent troops to Somalia? Were we whitesplaining to the Somali warlords who were preventing aid from getting to starving people? Sometimes an issue is bigger than black and white, and to disregard someone's opinion (if it is a constructive one) simply because they're white is silly to me, and not productive.

I mean every white person you know probably constantly tells you that you are a victim so I mean your reaction to this doesn't surprise me. So as a white man I can't have an opinion on an issue I find to be pretty shitty but you can talk to me about "whitesplaining" and what I can and can't talk about? naw, sorry man that's not how it works. We are all humans. I can talk about it and it's an issue I don't know why you are trying to say it's not. It's a serious issue within the black community, you can't say it's not

Oh So now you are assuming I don't give a shit. I kinda do. I kinda hate seeing teenagers and kids getting into gang violence and dying. Anybody for that matter. It's pretty fucking shitty. You think I made this to piss YOU off. A black person. No I didn't.
