ATL is in the driver's seat on this one. More cap than the Wiz. They get an upgrade on a cheaper contract.

The Wizards have no cap room anyway and they have Beal at SG, Porter is perfect for them so they'll match.

I guess now the Sixers regret signing JJ, they could have gotten KCP. Atlanta can probably max KCP.

Also it appears the Blazers offered all 3 picks + any player outside of the big 3 for PG

Good God if that's true. I don't care if Paul Allen ran over his dog, how do you decide on the OKC offer over that? The way to get back at a team you don't like is by coming out on top in a trade with them, not by losing your job for being a dumbass.

Imagine if PG bolted. KP would've made out even better. Dumbass...

We have the MLE right? Why not you know.. use it?

If Portland doesn't use it, that seems like a sign that Portland doesn't want to go deep into the luxury tax and doesn't want to make their task clearing out salary room for Nurkic even harder.

Though a one-year mini-MLE wouldn't complicate things. On the other hand, probably not that many players are interested in a one-year mini-MLE.

First KCP and now...

Plus Tyreke Evans basically getting mini-MLE. Has to make Olshey's stomach churn not to have cap space to use. He gambled that guys would get way overpaid like last year and lost.

To be fair, I was fine with all the signings outside of matching Crabbe at the time (oh and Leonard. Didn't want him on the team period).

I love all the beat writers on Twitter that come on to confirm Woj's tweets.

Hey, bitches.... They're confirmed once Woj tweets them.

That's like me confirming a MJ jumper after he's made it.
I like it when the player says something, and then someone says their sources confirmed it. Kyle Lowry posts on twitter he is staying, and then some writer quotes him and says my sources confirm this. WTF? I should hope so.

Damn. I like that dude

Zach Lowe said it perfectly.

Neil gambled that there would be a demand for wings, so he matched Crabbe and signed Turner, but he got burned. The cap went down and nobody is biting.
The cap stalling out was the big thing. If it had made another huge leap, I'm guessing it would have been possible to dump one of those guys (maybe), but now their money just looks stupid.

Neil would be a huge fan of a sub-reddit called r/salarycapbets (if there was such a place.)
