Trade Blazers trade Simons for Holiday

Well post is gone now saying Dame should be brought back only if behind Scoot.

I believe Richmond said that Dame wanted to come back to Portland but as the starter and franchise player. That's how he views himself. He would not be a backup, or defer to Scoot or defer to anyone on the team.

14 players now officially listed as traded. Still no Jrue or Ant.

No Porzingis either, so perhaps the hold up is on Bostons end.

at least the minor suspense gives us something to speculate about
Maybe there's a podcast out there that will surprise us with knowledge that THIS is the move that's looping in a grant trade, lol

That would be great

I’m expecting the classic disappointment result.

Yeah, it seems like one side of not both must be trying for something or it would be done by now. Buy, it will probably just end as is.

Maybe Jrue doesn’t wanna come here at the end of his career and we really are trying for Brown.

Scoot
Brown
Deni
Camara
Clingan/Yang

Works for me.

Hope Jrue doesn't ask for a buyout

Geez, go take a nap and don't look at the internet for a while. The intrusive thoughts are winning.

Does it have to be finalized today?

Ok.

If it was going to happen today, it likely would have.

When does it have to be finalized by?
I have no idea durinig the off season how long it could take. During the season there are rules about roster size but even then I don't know if there would be a set date that a trade has to be finalized by after being reported. This could technically go on all summer.

The frustrating thing to me is that we don't have some reporting on what's going on... either by people covering our team or the fucking Celtics.

There's no deadline.

Well, I guess like beginning of the season. But teams can agree, it can get leaked, but they can still negotiate on timing. Because of Boston's tax issues, I imagine the holdup is on their end, trying to align transactions to give them the best benefit.

I still wouldn’t be surprised to see him flipped as part of a larger deal. Probably not, but I think a lot depends on if he wants to be here or has his heart set on playing for a contender.

Jrue said he would retire before playing anywhere else when he was in Milwaukee. I think he's very family oriented, just speculating, and not wanting to bounce them around. But he was traded from there to Boston. He didn't retire. He signed a new contract. He'll be a pro, and love it here, and maybe he decides like many ex-blazers, the PNW is where he wants to retire

Is the porzingis deal final? Likely just Boston taking time to file trade papers.

it's a holiday weekend

There is another reason maybe we have not heard anything ... it's a holiday weekend so good chance we will see the trade finalized tomorrow.
Yeah... but all of the other reported trades that were supposed to finalize today did... except the other Boston trade. I don't think that it's just filing the paperwork either, both our front office and Boston's are extremely professional. It's either something that we're not seeing like @RR7 said, a benefit for tax purposes that really I don't see since the new league year is here and the next significant date for taxes is a year away... or other teams are getting involved.

I bet we see a bigger version of what has been reported. I'm not saying anything different for us necessarily but probably more pieces than have been reported so far getting moved.

There’s also the report that Boston wanted to move Simons.

Yeah, reports of Jrue not wanting to be here and reports of them wanting to move Ant... so I guess there are plenty of reasons it could be held up. Not getting my hopes up that it means better things for us.
