Dame asks for trade (And there it is)

Welcome to our community

Be a part of something great, join today!

I don't think the "Nope" and then just silence thing really works. I hope we're communicating a little more openly than that as far as what it's going to take for us to move Dame.
Joe told Miami to empty the room, search for every nook and cranny

Be worth a gamble on Simons if they'd give up Clax. We'd also take Royce.

Those three would compliment Scoot, Sharpe, & Simmons. Think of the defense we would have to compliment some scoring.

Naming your price is poor negotiating tactic. Listening to offers and rejecting offers is what Joe needs to be doing, unless of course the offer is no-brainer

I would imagine that Herro is a big part of that issue. Joe probably does not want to try to trade another team's player and Pat seems to think he shouldn't have to try either.

On another note, I usually like listening to Amin Elhassan, but he was an ass today talking about the Blazers. He essentially said no team other than Miami will/should trade for Dame and Portland should take whatever Miami offers........or Portland can forget about having Dame come back after he retires. I am pretty sure neither Jody nor Joe are too worried about that...they will be long gone as well. Either way that ship has sailed.

He also insinuated that the Blazers laughed at Miami for offering Herro. Not because he was a duplication (which he admitted he was) but because Herro wasn't any good. That is a flat-out lie. The Blazers have not commented about anything. Not sure where he came up with that.

so...tell me if I'm way off-base in this:

the only reason we're hearing any buzz at all is because Portland may be having some preliminary 'what-if' discussions with a couple of teams other than Miami...and sources for those teams are leaking. Which in turn is causing Pat Riley to go to his back-channel leaking tools and make a lot of noise trying to throw monkey wrenches in Portland's way

and right now, it's still a long way from being any done deal...

Dude if your in a competitive grad program I believe it but if your taking 15 credits that's like five hours of work five days a week (including homework).

Have you ever done 15 credits? + a job? That's full time bro. Ive done both and if you're saying 5 hours a day 5 days a week. And then you do 8 hour work days 5 days a week. Plus commute.

Yeah, you have no fucking time. Trust me.

I've worked and taken 15 credits, it was over 15 years ago but I did it and you're right but this is what the guy said:

"I go to college big dawg, no time for job or hobbys"

So just college, no job or hobbys even though he does this and it's definitely a kind of hobby.

1. Please stop starting Ant over Sharpe

2. I know nothing, but Barnes probably isn’t coming,
benching Sharpe is already a point of emphasis by certain podcasters. Shaedon will see limited action, and here are all the reasons why .... ummm ... he's not very good at defense. Because Chauncey's coaching style clearly emphasizes defense.

So then let's start Ant over him? Huh?

Sharpe has the higher ceiling both offensively and defensively. Long-term, if Ant expects to be a Blazers, it's with him being a super sub coming off the bench. If the idea is to continue to inflate his value, then maybe it's okay to continue to start him before shipping him off for a better fit.

I feel ya, it's difficult at times hearing official "takes" on Sharpe's game. Locked on Blazers guy got Shaedons finger injury wrong, called it a thumb injury. Nope, Shaedon fractured his middle finger on shooting hand, wore a soft cast in games during first 2 months of the season. I think talking Blazers doesn't necessarily mean people watched the games. Here's some stats, let's talk stats. Nevermind the times Billups yanked Shaedon out the game after hitting 3-4 shots in a row instead of keeping him on the court.

Hope were not targeting OG or Pascal - they made sense with Dame but make no sense without him.
I understand not trading for Pascal, we’re on the same boat. But I think OG would be a fine get in a Dame trade. He’s a true SF size player who is great on defense. He’s young enough that a decline shouldn’t happen during the length of his next contract, and that new contract will be expiring or already expired by the time Shae and Scoot are in their rookie extensions.

Agreed. He's still a great defensive player with upside. Whoever thought that all the players need to be in the same age widow to build is not reading how to build teams correctly. If we had Scoot, Shae, OG, ? and Ayton as our starting 5, I would be very happy and think it would be very promising honestly.

We need to be in talent acquisition mode.

And your assertion is that Ant is better? Ant is entirely one-dimensional. Good, albeit streaky, shooter. Nothing else.

Shae may need to improve on defense but he has more to his game than Ant and much more upside.

Could be Cronin leaking, to put pressure on Riley?

it's not my idea, benching Shaedon for maximum Simons p.t. has been dribbling into Blazers podcasts not named Blazers Uprise all summer.

So they go with Ant? LOL
yes... Ant extremists have gone as far as trading Shaedon

I say run 4 guards with Jerami. The most important thing is development and chemistry. Winning games might have to take a back seat this season.

Scoot
Simons
Sharpe
Thybulle
Grant

OG injury history, and upcoming free agency (supermax or worse) greatly concern me. I'd rather have a lesser player and picks.

If the idea was to win now with Dame I could be talked into it. Without that, OG just doesn't seem likely to provide value above his costs, in 3 years when Scoot/Sharpe begin to enter their prime.

At which point he’s pretty much an expiring that can be traded. He’s not a make-or-break type of player in a trade, but I do think he provides value.

But to your point, those reasons lead me toward Ayton if I had to choose between the two.
