Dame asks for trade (And there it is)

The Heat got a 2nd round pick back as part of the Max Strus deal. They can offer to flip that to OKC and make the 1st unprotected in 2026 as their offer.

Again. A 1st is a 1st. An asset to potentially move or draft. Squeeze it out of them.

maybe that's the plan

Yeah, I wanna know what Maxey can get us back in a 3 team deal. If it was Tobias and Maxey outgoingfor Dame(let them figure out Harden on their own), Maxey obviously doesn't have a spot here. But am sure other teams would be enticed

Either does Tobias. Hell no.

What's the best deal we could come up with for Philly?

If Maxey and Harden are going out, what could they get to send to us for Dame?

Dame to Philly
Harden to Houston for picks/young players?
Maxey to Brooklyn? Utah?

I'm not really sure what value Maxey has.
I think Maxey's value is high. I think if Philly wants him they're going to have to find the teams that will give us the kind of pieces we need to move Dame. I do not think that Houston is a player for Harden anymore after all of the money they've spent.

I don't think that Joe should draw this out too far, if he really values Jaquez a lot and wants to wait around for him Joe should get a deal done soon and just have it finalize in a month. I think ideally Joe has already fielded offers from multiple teams that he can use as leverage in negotiations with whoever he deals Dame to. I think that it would be way better for the team to know the direction they're going in as soon as possible, just in order to know how they'll fill out the roster.

I proposed a batshit 4 team deal (I know they hardly ever happen).

The idea here is that Maxey wouldn't get us enough for Dame and they would need the assets from the Harden trade as well in order to get Dame. The Tobias expiring contract plus what anybody could get for Maxey does not equal Dame. Possibly what Morey could get for Maxey from one team and from Harden from another would be enough for Philly to land Dame.

I don't know what Dame's relationship is like right now with the Blazers front office but I wouldn't blame Dame if it's sour. Again there are a lot of reasons he might be keeping his mouth shut. I don't remember one player in the history of the league after a trade demand was made public doing what you're asking for Dame to do. If it's just slipping my mind please remind me.

I don't have a person either and it's probably some agent BS, and maybe it's because Dame is built different I have a different expectation which ultimately falls on me. I just dont want this to be true where he's fucking our team on the way out.

No chance Houston trades all that for Harden.

I said it was batshit crazy!

I'm not really sure what his value is right now. It's hard because they don't have cap space and they don't have many big contracts that they can trade right now.

Yeah, sorry, I didn't flesh out the entirety of the offer. I know Philly would have to add more, was mainly just curious on Maxey's value. Should have just said that specifically.

You jackasses should never have suggested Claxton. Looking at his stats and age, he'd be PERFECT next to Jeremy and Triple S.

And now that I've seen these stats, it insures we won't get him :(
Why not? Brooklyn got Bridges.
For Cronin to make a good trade, he should be getting a Bridges-like player and some picks.

Because Cronin has never negotiated a trade with a good return other than getting Grant which Damian set up for him.

I agree Cronin is untested, but if Dame was that instrumental in the Grant trade, Grant would want to renegotiate his contract so he gets out ASAP after Dame leaves, since he was the only reason Grant wanted to be here.

Going to say this as nice as I think I can. You're being a sycophant.

No one has said Dame can't choose a path. In fact, most of us critical of him have said he totally had that right. On the other hand, most of your posts have been like someone who has a Dame shrine in your room. I noticed several posts where you make accusations against the Blazers that you couldn't know unless you actually work in the front office. I haven't addressed you until now because I don't think you can carry on an adult conversation on the subject. I've just let you be miserable in your unlikely one-sided hero worship.

Right now, Dame's the one dragging the team that's done everything for him for 11 years and its fans. Yeah, if his circle told Fentress this, it's trolling us, the Blazer fans.

He had all the input on the players we acquired (except who we draft). He had input on the coaches, the style of play. Gave him the super-max. The Blazers traded good assets for meh players because he wanted it. We probably overspent a little to re-sign his friend just so he could bail. We put his cousin on the team for two years for heaven's sake. And you think the Blazers did Dame dirty? You need to do stand-up.

I'll give you another thing, and then you can go off on another tirade: Dame said all these players wanted to come to Portland to play with him. Who? Why didn't we ever hear of any? Why didn't we hear of any even borderline all-stars pushing for trades to Portland that might have allowed the Blazers a chance to trade or sign them without robbing Peter? BUT, when Dame wants to go to Miami, he's going to do everything he can to get them a sweetheart deal from the Blazers if Fentress is to be believed. That doesn't sound like the paragon of virtue you and others and Dame's handlers have presented him to be ... and maybe it's just Fentress making stuff up to rile us up more and get clicks, so I'm just saying if this report has a factual basis, Dame's a fraud and always was.
Your right remember we also sign his cousin that couldn't play a lick of basketball.

He's also never really been in a position with this much leverage. As much as some fans want to worry and handwring about this situation, the reality is we have Dame under contract for the length of his viable career. Cronin has already said that he'll work to accommodate Dame's request, but that doesn't mean he has to take the first offer he gets. Cronin works for the Blazers, not for Dame, and is very probably negotiating FOR HIS CAREER.

No incentive. You don't just give up money and you don't go back on agreements.

I actually think Grant can be even better with Scoot running the show in a fast paced offense.

I'm sure the organization promised to move him when the time is right.

I think Grant would be better here now than before too. And hell, maybe they signed Grant because they wanted him here after Dame is gone. Who knows. We'll know more in February about what's going on right now.

How did that "leverage" workout when he traded CJ? How about Norm? He asked where they preferred to go and got almost nothing back for them. I expect better this time, but I don't think we're getting back a can't miss prospect. Just late 1st round prospects with draft picks.
