Drama.
The Blazers go from the drama of Dame to the drama of Simmons.
I don't mind this from Dame. He's asking someone with a public voice, not just some random troll to explain how he has misled anyone. He gave clear warning that the situation had changed and if the team chose to go young they were choosing that over him.
Anyone?
I agree Dame needs to turn the shit off, immediately. It hurts my heart, and gets my blood boiling to read so much vile garbage on S2, now. And to see these posters not understand why Dame is pissed off at Fork Tongued Joe is mindboggling. Joe's lie of "building around Dame "has taken it's toll.He just should ignore it. There are always fans who get emotional and go ballistic. And almost every player in the history of the game has fans who dislike them. Did he really think that fans on the internet were not going to be dicks? That would be a first
Go Joe!
He's overselling that position too.Go Joe!
Much better package than most. Id be fine with thisView attachment 56558
Considering the circumstances, would anyone be upset with this package? I was watching a Nets video where their guys were interested in being the third team that takes Herro.
Lowry expires at the end of the season, Simmons the following season. I wouldn’t be mad at that package.
We don't even know exactly what him saying he wants to go to Miami and nowhere else entails. Did he or his agent threaten to sit? Did they threaten not to report to the new team? We're going off some very limited information and people are condemning him for it. I don't blame Dame for telling the team where he wants them to put him but if that's not the best place for the team to move him to then they have to do what they think is best... then we can all see what Dame does. The only thing to be mad at dame for is the dictation of location, other than that I support Dame in what he did. He did give us warning, like you said.
It's one of the few places that would make him beg for Oregon taxes.I have long thought the Raptors were the best fit because of their young talent.
Make it a 2026 pick and a 2028 unprotected.
I love Dame, but he’s amongst the history list of most one-sides players. As good as he is on offense, his D is equally atrocious. But here we are, focusing on offense cuz that’s what sells to the fans. But it doesn’t translate to W’s, and that’s why Portland has been weak for several years now.
Well, it's not wrong. If Dame ends up in Miami, it would likely be the biggest 'Big 3' in the league. So much for 'the grind'....

That's why I can't figure out why Miami wants him so bad. (Or, maybe the amount they want him is reflected in how poor their tradable assets are?) He doesn't fit their defensive intensity at all, and he would take the ball out of Bam's hands, requiring a complete overhaul of the offense. Is he going to suddenly be comfortable playing off the ball?
He's good at creating his own shot, which is something Miami desperately needs, but at the sake of ball movement which is sort of their specialty.

Yeah what happens if he doesn’t make the team he goes to better? How much grace will he get from his new team’s fans?
I wish people would respect Dames decision. If you want to blast someone blast Jody & Bert for not selling the team.
At my old age of 73, I was hopeful we could do as Joe said he would do and swing for the fence to give Dame a chance, thats all he requested.
Joe imo, struggles taking risk and the reason he's survived as long as he has as a Vulcan, is he's been a yes man, that rubs well & smiles.
He's a numbers cruncher and scout at heart.
Four 1sts isn’t enough for me to go through with it. Jovic can’t be the best player coming back if we are only getting four picks back.Nets would like to dump Ben, they also would like to get Herro. Give up a 1st for dumping Simmons, give up another one for getting Herro. Thats a good deal for them. Both to Portland.
Miami wants Dame. And Nurk. They give up Herro, and they also send Kyle Lowry and Jovic to Portland, along with two unprotected 1sts. They're instant contenders.
Portland loses Dame and Nurk, and eats the Simmons and Lowry contracts, and gets Jovic (he or Highsmith need to be included to make the $$$ match), plus the two Nets 1sts and unprotected Heat 1sts.
Lowry expiring. Simmons expires before Shaedon's rookie contract comes up. Jovic is a good talent.
This works money-wise for every team involved. It also seems to align with what these teams supposedly want?

The way we have been drafting lately I want as many 1s as possible, we are gonna suck next year so taking shit contracts for more 1s is fine with me. Ideally a young big prospect and 5-6 1s is what I want.
I thought he can’t be traded for 30 days now. They need to add Jaquez.
