OT El Paso shooting: 22 Dead, 24 Inured. Dayton shooting: 9 Dead, 16 Injured

Welcome to our community

You insult someone personally it leads to a straight up argument and back and forth name calling. Insulting a group of people doesn't really generate the same hate and volatility.

WTF?!

Google the word racism and get back to me. I'll wait.

I didn't say apologize for them. I said to make it very clear to them that they do not have a home or a voice in the republican party. Right now they do.

That's an outrageous lie and a personal insult to all Republicans.

Nobody can stop a few nuts from saying they are Republicans, but the simple fact is the Republican Party does not welcome them, nobody of either party that I know of welcomes them and there is really nothing in the Republican Party Platform that they support other than the enforcement of the written laws of our land.

They are political in nature. They are hateful, racist losers who inhabit both parties fairly equally. It is a fact that the Democratic Party was and is still to this day founded in racism, an enabler of racism and a proponent of racism through pretty much their entire freedom-killing platform.

The good news is they're a miniscule speck of our population and completely powerless. Ignore them and they'll go away as they did decades ago.

Stop being a pawn.

An article about the Dayton Ohio shooter:

https://heavy.com/news/2019/08/connor-betts-twitter-politics-social-media/

I cannot confirm or deny the authenticity of the information within the article. It is up to you to decide for yourself.

Assuming he was a Leftist, I still don't blame politicians for his behavior. He was a nutcase, and there is zero justification or rhetoric necessary to explain his actions.

Sometimes, crazy is just crazy.

"In the past 48hrs, the USA horrifically lost 34 people to mass shootings.
On average, across any 48hrs, we also lose… 500 to Medical errors 300 to the Flu 250 to Suicide 200 to Car Accidents 40 to Homicide via Handgun Often our emotions respond more to spectacle than to data."

Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson

Looks like the target was his sister and black people because she was dating a black guy.

I also thought I saw he was a satan worshiping democrat. Is that incorrect?

Yes.

He was a racist, a misogynist, and a murdering Democrat.

Satan is not a real thing.

Feel better now?

Sly admitted that he was busy, and could have chosen his words better. This has been addressed.

His words were perfectly descriptive of his preferred modding criteria, an accurate reflection of how this forum is controlled and prodded toward racism and division.

Censorship is the garden of evil.

You sound exactly like the Trumpers on Twitter right now: deflect and find a way to divert blame to the "libtards." :biglaugh:

Trump has been fanning the flames of racism and now that a Trump supporter used his words as ammo to carry out his attack on "Hispanic invaders" -- it's apparently time to stop pointing fingers and come together

Trump is not only a pedophile, he's a blatant racist.

Facts.

Calling posters racists or white supremacists is a crystal clear violation of the no personal insult rule, regardless of whether he uses the term Trump supporters as a go-around. It is quite sad that a mod is so challenged with simple debate decorum.

I haven't called any poster a white supremacist or a racist here. I spoke of the shooters and only of the shooters. Slander.

Oh yes, Maxine in particular has been quite a piece of work. Obama was just arrogant and condescending, but Maxine is a nut.

Another time I'm afraid. I forget how exhausting this shit is. I remember why I stopped coming to the OT a while back.

My personal opinion: I think it has far more to do with social media and the MSM than it does with anything a politician has said. The internet has changed dramatically just within the past 10 years, and it has caused problems we can't even begin to fathom. It has given a platform for all kinds of crazy ideologies. I wouldn't be surprised if there is a facebook account for head hunters for a Sun God or something.

So it sounds like there is just no reasoning with you, period. Any mass shooter is going to be a "Trump guy".

Then I'm gonna stop banging my head into this wall before it becomes bloody.

I agree with this to a point; and that point being the very obvious fact that BOTH sides have extremists. The FBI is actually considering ANTIFA as a violent extremist group....they are anything but Conservative or Right-leaning. But does that mean that the Democratic Party is responsible for them?

No?

Okay......then why are Conservatives or Republicans responsible for White Supremacists? Why do we need to run around apologizing for them?

They are BOTH fringes of their respective sides. I do, however, think that both sides could do a better job at pushing them away. The amount of times I've wanted to reach through a screen and smack a supposed Conservative for talking white supremacist propaganda, or spouting off some conspiracy about something, is endless. Hell, I wanted to do it just today on a gun forum! And I already got some white supremacist kicked off of that same forum for his racist rhetoric.

But I don't blame gun owners for that guy's behavior because he signed on to a gun forum. I blame his ignorance, and I hold HIM responsible for it.

I don't think either side should be taking responsibility for the fringe elements within. I do, however, think both sides should do a better job of isolating them and condemning them.

But blaming a politician for something a mass murderer did? Sorry, that's going too far. I've never heard Trump once call for killing anyone illegally.

Over the years there have been extremist at the left and right and both should not be tolerated at all.
One blows up Army recruiting centers and the other abortion clinics, but WRONG and terrorism.
I also agree that both parties better address their own party extremist and cut them zero slack.
I also think the media TV and Social have a huge responsibility to calm things down when possible and not give ANY extremist group a band wagon.

Many times in many threads you group all Trump supporters as if they were all incapable of varied opinions and label them white supremacists, in direct replies to posters you know are Trump supporters.

It's cowardly, transparent and slanderous.

Others who repeatedly do it are Cupwizer and Fez Forthright.

More slander and insults

My posts in this thread were about the shooters. I even clarified such.

Links to other threads were I have supposedly called posters white supremacists?

Golly!

GOPers sure get their bloomers all in a bunch when they get a taste of their own medicine.

And it's MR. Fez Forthright to you.

How would YOU define a mass shooting?

Grammatically speaking, it would refer to a mass of people who were shooting along with each other, say target shooting at a range as about 500,000 people harmlessly do each day.

"Shooting" is an incorrect word in the instance of any murder, mis-used deliberately to erase the blame from the human who has murdered in order to convince simpletons that inanimate objects are the reason people's lives have been taken.

As far as defining a mass murder, I wouldn't.

Anyone who murders anyone is a murderer and deserves to be put to death.

I have no interest in keeping some macabre scorecard for them, or rank them as if this was sport.

and yet you are the one that moved to La White Pine, Oregon and pretty much read and believe anything Faux News puts out. I have lived all my life in central NE Portland or central SE Portland. Who is the one living in his own bubble? Your city is less than a 1/3 smaller than my neighborhood.

:biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh:

I don't live in a city. That's my mailing address.

I live in rural Deschutes County surrounded by US National Forests in every direction, and my back yard is over 3 acres with 500' of riverfront, a small island, a peninsula across the river, and a gorgeous view of Paulina Peak.

Born and raised in the working class section of Lake Oswego, moved to a hispanic neighborhood in North Hollywood for a year of music school.

Then I lived in SE PDX a few years out of financial necessity when I was a young newlywed, first in the historic lesbian neighborhood around 23rd on Madison, then around 25th on Division.

But somehow the racism, militant lesbians and runaway Crips and Bloods gang crime of the late 70's was not enough allure to hold me there.

Moved to Milwaukie for 23 years and raised my kids there. Nice town, very diverse community, unfortunate that Portland swallowed it whole.

Kids grew up, there was no joy in watching the perpetual decay and crime and corruption and mostly the nonstop noise and choking air pollution so we moved here in 2002 without job prospects and started over, borrowing on my paid off Xterra for living expenses until we found jobs.

Was tough at first, we survived, now we thrive here in Beautiful Central Oregon.

It's a pretty big bubble I guess. :dunno:

I'm jealous. I would love to live out there.

But just to be safe, I'm moving to Idaho. They just passed the biggest gun rights agenda in recent memory, surpassing Arizona as the most gun-friendly state in the country. It's beautiful, it's free, and there's not nearly as many crazies as this place. I'm heading there, hopefully within the next two years. I'm sick of the weather here, sick of the traffic, sick of the politics, sick of the homeless everywhere, and sick of the people. I've lived here 24 years....can't do it anymore.

Where did he call a member of this forum a racist?

Trump Laughed About Shooting Mexican Migrants 3 Months Before El Paso Shooting

https://www.yahoo.com/news/trump-smirked-idea-shooting-migrants-173458686.html

"Donald Trump laughed and joked after a supporter suggested shooting Mexican migrants at a rally in May 2019. The clip of the interaction is once again spreading across social media, as the US reels from the El Paso massacre."

“When you have 15,000 people marching up, and you have hundreds and hundreds of [immigrants], and you have two or three border security people that are brave and great – and don’t forget we don’t let them and we can’t let them use weapons,” Mr Trump said, to an audience of thousands in Florida"

"We can’t. Other countries do, we can’t. I would never do that. But how do you stop these people?”

In response someone from the audience shouted: “Shoot them!”

Mr Trump then appeared to laugh before shaking his head and saying: “That’s only in the Panhandle you can get away with that statement.”

The crowd then erupted into laughter and cheers, and Mr Trump added: “Only in the Panhandle!”

Trump spreading divisiveness with dangerous rhetoric at one of his rallys about Mexican Immigrants, leading one of his suporters to talk about shooting them. He laughs and jokes about it. 3 months later El Paso happens.

Trumpeters are all over this. Apparently his statements have multiple meanings -- the "alternative facts" defense.

Willful ignorance.

If you take this seriously, youz a little bitch!

Words matter

Trump uses devisive rhetoric daily. How can he not hold any responsibility for the outcome of that hate
