That TO was pure dumb luck. 3 points down and the shot clock off, the best percentage play is look for the last shot and force OT. Re-start from even with the home crowd and the momentum. That approach is based on your team doing it right. What the Blazers did was desperately hope for the other team to screw up.

16s left 1 timeout Portland, 0 timeouts Denver.
Portland ball.
Best shot available. Look for a 3, don't need it due to timeouts and time.
Take a bad three, miss the shot and suddenly you're looking @ a 5 point game instead of a 3 point game.
No momentum, no home crowd, no OT.

10s left on the clock after CJ dunked.
Worse case you foul and Denver makes 2 FT's and you call a timeout.
As you're down 3 with 6.9s left.

Literally the right play was made by CJ.

Get with reality man... this team need a miracle the other not to beat an Orlando team without Aaron Gordon... and they were at home off multiple days rest coming off a 3 game losing streak... this team blows... can’t believe you are blind to 3 years evidence that this Dame, CJ, Stotts thing won’t work... what are you on the 10 year plan?!

We need to change the way we play. We need to stick to that whole ball movement thing they made an emphasis in the summer. Instead, as soon as shit hits the fan, we just revert back to what we know. Dame. CJ. Dame. CJ. Dame. CJ. That coaching is amateur. Stotts has had enough time to fix it. It’s time for him to go, along with Olshey. I don’t care if it pisses off Dame. Last time he was pissed was when they traded Plumlee. But they got better and started winning. Fuck feelings.

I’m with you man I’m a huge Cj fan and I still couldn’t care if we shipped him. This team is just simply played out

Only silver lining is one more 1st round exit or shit not making the playoffs all together this team is being blown up

Because he plays better defense. Although the ironic thing is his defense cost us the game.

Someone in this thread mentioned earlier how stupid it is that we have to compromise our roster for situations like this. It's so true, we lack balance.
I'll take layman or Stauskas all day in a close 4th quarter over Evan turnover

If the Blazers keep playing like this they will not make the playoffs

It was a great pass from Dame after the defense closed in on him and CJ has a great look. CJ's gonna make that 8 out 10 times. Probably his easiest shot of the night. But thems the breaks. The effort was very good on defense in the second half. But it wasn't good on the perimeter in the 1st half. Got to come out swingin'. Stop starting Heartless. Dude is useless. Blazers got way better looks when Jake Layman started. No one even needs to guard epic bricker MO. Dude has zero motor. Start Jake. It gives Dame another high quality option to pass to. Bravo to Chief tonight. Awesome. NO FT's Attempts for Dame. TOTAL B.S. Stauskas sticks out leg on 3 pt attempt, foul on Sauce. Murray does same, 3 ft's. Dame fouled by Harris in act on 3pt attempt, ball out on the side. GAHBIDGE spineless refs.

I'm on board with moving CJ. I WANT to move CJ.

But the stupid shit people say just because it's CJ makes me want to pull my hair out.

It's because some on this forum drink more than Lillard does.

I am legitimately amazed by all the people MAD that a hot shooter got a wide open shot to win the game.

What kind of backwards logic are you people subscribing to?
I’m a bit surprised as well but not mad at venting from folks cause there’s definitely something wrong and we need to vent for therapeutic reasons. :beatinto: Me personally I don’t mind the hot shooter taking the last shot especially when Dame is so locked down. Would like to see a few more shooters on the floor. Not that I’m saying Baldwin should have been in there but I really like the way he can slash to the hoop which might have been pretty effective with 5 seconds left and down by 1. Maybe draw a foul while being around the rim either way.

So if we needed a miracle to win vs. Orlando, then we needed a miracle to lose tonight, right?

I'm just pointing out how stupid it is to complain about C.J. after this game when he was the only reason we were in the game.

It’s like, if we have to watch a mediocre product, at least get some different players to make it new and interesting, even if it’s a lateral move... this is boring as shot and we all now the ending

Then stop watching and stop spending so much of your life posting about it.

Here we go......:bored:

Actually I said nothing about CJ's line like you assumed.
I just called out an ass post because the post was

Got to take care of homecourt for sure. Blazers second 1 pt. hard luck loss at home. Things will even out later and they'll get 'em back. But have to play better at the start, and stop using the totally useless Heartless in the starting lineup. Gives the opposing team a 5 to 4 advantage.

You are comparing apples to oranges my friend... Blazers were lucky to even have a chance tonight being down double digits for most the game... and you know where I stand on CJ... my opinion wasn’t formed off this game and it’s about team fit more than individual ability

So, with 6.9 secs you are in the same situation I just described - but with less time to set up a good shot. :dunno:

We disagree on what the best approach would have been. If you had said this in the first place, I would have just agreed to disagree and moved on. Your vitriol was ridiculous.

You don't wind out the clock. Doesnt give you time for an offensive rebound or to play the foul game. This take is bad, like and simple. As always, people such to find things to complain about in regards to C.J.

Naw after this year with another 1st round exit which I’m sure will happen, this team is being blown up.

This same team won’t be together at all next year. We just have to agonize through this year and that’s it

Are there good prospects in the middle of the 2019 draft?

Exactly my point. You just repeat the same tired point because of a loss that contradicts your point. I hope you see the silliness in that, and grow from it.
