Maybe now that CJ knows he isn't safe he will start playing better
Crank up that trade value the way you crank up shots there MeJ.

I like to imagine Terry Stotts, Brian Wheeler and the Mike's getting drunk together and sharing war stories tonight.....all going..."Fuck Yeah!"
Jody vs Neil

Sorry, but John Nash (with assistance from Steve Patterson) made Olshey look like a genius…….Trader bob all day and there's no discussion. Olshey is the worst gm we've ever had.
not to mention rich cho.Sorry, but John Nash (with assistance from Steve Patterson) made Olshey look like a genius…….
because he was an asshole would be my first thought...and perhaps that they all shared the same disdain for him? The McGowan firings have his resignation to cheer.....just a thoughtWhy? Olshey had nothing to do with 2 of them them being fired/let go. That was McGowan.
Agreed.Sorry, but John Nash (with assistance from Steve Patterson) made Olshey look like a genius…….

Brown III (Developmental, no shot, just a athlete with no true basketball skills IMO), Watford (developmental, rebounding ability but offensive deficient), Elleby ( developmental, has a motor and can rebound, outside shot weird and inconsistant), Smith Jr. (poor shooter, not a great facilitator either), Blevins (developmental. Only player of the last 5 that has a decent looking shot, but doesn't do a lot to stand out in any way) . These 5 guys are awful offensive players. Other teams end of bench guys usually, at least can shoot. These guys give a whole new level of Brick City.that not I'm defending Olshey's moves (etc), but who are the 5 guys you speak of?
The only player on the team who has zero business being in the league (or on a professional basketball team of ANY sort) is Blevins.
Agree. Or Cronin should be allowed to make moves. Standing pat is Unacceptable .If we make a good GM hire it would be best to do it sooner than later.
Cronin or others operating on an interim basis will not make bold additions or trade out established players. They will be very conservative, play it safe, and have a run it back attitude.
This team either needs to make big trades acquiring starters to contend with Dame; or burn it all down and trade everyone possibly including Dame. Running it back won't work.
But an interim GM isn't going to want to make moves with so much risk that a new GM would criticize.
Trade restrictions start lifting December 15th, in 12 days. The team needs to hire a GM ASAP!!!

Oh, please. They could have made it last a month just to give the impression it was thorough. They wanted Olshey out, and this is how they accomplished it. I’m not complaining, mind you, but I think the whole “investigation” thing was a smoke screen.A month-long investigation is hard to dismiss as anything but thorough.
Little is a fun player and shows the energy Chauncey wants, but he's always down with some sort of lingering injury. He will be an a player they may have to use for the Block Buster everyone thinks can and should happen. Without Dame being part of it.Bottom line is that the Blazers have, at best, 4 players on the bench that can actually contribute. Nance is good. Zeller gives honest effort. Simons and Little can contribute, but the convenient timing of their current injuries makes me wonder if they really want the responsibility of a bigger role. The rest of the bench are lucky to have jobs.
I don't follow GM and front office changes as much as coaches and player transactions, has there been any recent mid season hiring/firings that led to a breakthrough season or something along those lines? What are we model this transition after?
It's 2019???Great… now we can trade CJ
he was bad but he was GM for less than 3 years
9.5 years of very bad Olshey is worse than 2.9 years of really, really bad Nash. Math
this kinda thing doesn't happen midseason unless there are extenuating circumstances. it's a bit unprecedented. of late, i remember knicks firing steve mills in Feb of 2020, but they failed miserably to close that season.I don't follow GM and front office changes as much as coaches and player transactions, has there been any recent mid season hiring/firings that led to a breakthrough season or something along those lines? Why would he leave Indy for Portland?Chad Buchanon
