But he hit on CJ and Dame... So he's 2/3 on lotto picks.Missing on the one lottery pick is damning - all those second round finds have gotten us nothing.

This is what I would expect to happen. Olshey was gone as soon as her fired Stotts and claimed the roster wasn't the problem.
Yep. I fully expect that exact scenario. Billups will be gone after next season unless we make a deep run.The implication here is that whoever regardless of who the new GM...Billups may be on the hot seat sooner rather than later.
I would think that if Prince gets hired that would be the exception. The implication here is that whoever regardless of who the new GM...Billups may be on the hot seat sooner rather than later.
i don't. considering how crucial billups reportedly has been in calming down the dame drama, i think chauncey is in for the long haul.Yep. I fully expect that exact scenario. Billups will be gone after next season unless we make a deep run.

(his contract makes it a no-brainer).
In which case we probably will not get a good GM. If the GM doesn't have that authority he's not going to take this job, (unless Billups is his friend).i don't. considering how crucial billups reportedly has been in calming down the dame drama, i think chauncey is in for the long haul.

That's why I think Tayshaun will be the best pick. Get him and Chauncy in the lab ASAP to rectify this dumpster fire.I would think that if Prince gets hired that would be the exception.
@SlyPokerDog is my lover. We have a love/hate relationship as most cats and dogs do.My bad…are you guys brothers?
i think chauncey gets at least two years regardless of who the GM is. perhaps just my intuition, but i think he's gonna be a good coach once he figures out the nuances of his role.In which case we probably will not get a good GM. Love is done. Cap filler, that's it.Honestly, CJ/Roco for Love Okoro makes us a better team (and maybe Cleveland too). Also gets us under the LT this year and gives us more flexibility for the next few years.
Lillard/Simons
Powell/(Simons/Okoro)
Little/Okoro
Nance/Love
Nurkic/Zeller

Candidates
If he's a legit good coach, and the GM makes a decent move or two we should be able to get out of first round next season.i think chauncey gets at least two years regardless of who the GM is. perhaps just my intuition, but i think he's gonna be a good coach once he figures out the nuances of his role.

Excellent point. Again, I stand corrected.you would assume our role would not simply be GM, but rather President of Basketball Ops. Both of these guys are #2 in their current front offices.
Love isn't going to give anybody a good 20 minutes anymore. Just as well trade Dame if that's all you can get for CJ.Sure, and CJ's a piece of shit that borders on a net negative (with contract). Love expires a year earlier, could give us 20 good minutes (when healthy), and Okoro would be a great b/u 2/3 for our future. Cavs probably wouldn't make the trade unless they're desperate for scoring this year and are either down on Sexton or don't think he'll regain his form after the surgery.

It's still strange to me that they let Olshey keep his job last summer, pick his coach, give that coach a lucrative 5 year deal, and then fire the guy midseason for being a douchenozzle. I mean, they must have known a long time ago that he was a douchenozzle, why all of a sudden now?
But he's not going to help us get where Dame wants to go. That's all I'm saying. Dame deserves a better return on CJ than that. If we can't get Dame a guy in his prime who is a border-line all star we're better off to just start the rebuild now. He's playing much better than CJ right now, basically leading their bench unit and keeping the ball moving.
This is my point about being a poor ownership group. As soon as they decided Stotts was done, Olshey should have been fired as well. It's still strange to me that they let Olshey keep his job last summer, pick his coach, give that coach a lucrative 5 year deal, and then fire the guy midseason for being a douchenozzle. Then they don't know enough about basketball to be a good ownership group. Not encouraging.Maybe they wanted to see if there was instant improvements with Chauncy and the "deep roster."

When you put it that way I think the only answer is that some of the complaints that came forward this season were enough to scare Vulcan about their own liability. Probably also why they felt comfortable today firing Neil with cause. I honestly doubt that they really wanted Olshey gone. The fact is that he is gone now and any GM that is brought in will want to clean up this mess of a roster. Chauncey is really well liked around the league so I'm betting that the new GM will want to give him a shot with a functional roster. It's still strange to me that they let Olshey keep his job last summer, pick his coach, give that coach a lucrative 5 year deal, and then fire the guy midseason for being a douchenozzle.
