ROUND 1, GAME 3: ROCKETS @ BLAZERS - 4/25/14, FRIDAY, 7:30 PM (PST), ESPN & KGW

While the NBA refs deserve a lot of the shit pointed their direction from the fans, the players, the coaches, and the managements... man, they have a shitty job. No matter what call they make (or don't make), a section of rabid people are going to scream and holler and demand their heads on a platter for any perceived slight. The game moves so fast and there's so much to pay attention to that missed/blown calls are going to happen. It's part of the game. Teams that win are the teams that don't care about the refs. They take care of business regardless.

Agreed. I do not think most fans know the rules either. They see the players and coaches complain then do the same thing. I would not want to be a ref.

Heading to the Adidas Employee, got a pass from work, to pick my daughter up a Lillard jersey if they have one. So stoked for the game tonight :)

Marc Stein @ESPNSteinLine
Jerry West is only player in NBA history to score 40+ points in first three games of the playoffs. @aldridge_12 can join him tonight vs. HOU

I hope we aren't getting two over confident. The Blazers could loose 2 games just as easy as they stole 2 games in Houston.

I saw someone post earlier about this possibly being a trap game. It very well could if we don't stay greedy.

Did you not hear the fans in Houston? They practically chanted "Ref you suck" the whole two games!

IMO when discussing home crowds and influence on refs you shouldn't look at bully chants like refs you suck. The reason I think the blazers have such a great home court advantage is because the fans have such a good awareness and knowledge of the game. We know when calls are right, and when they are wrong. We boo when calls are missed, not when they don't go our way. You hear a lot of fans randomly boo for no reason, and eventually a ref just ignores it all together.

It feels like that Houston Portland game 1 from several years ago. We were amped as FUCK pre-game and Houston just stomped us. It was a Saturday game I think and I couldn't concentrate on anything all day.

Great poster, BoiseBlazer.

I wore a path pacing the floor first two games. Kind of would like a Blazer blowout but don't think it will happen.
All you need is one more point than the other guys.

Old Oaktown expression, "just win baby".
(Is there any other fan base who can cover 3 pages 7 hours before tipoff?)

DarkWing you have won this battle, but not the war!
I will get revenge you bastard...... I will get revenge!

WORD.

BTW, they removed the top row of seating in the 300 level and the 200 level endzones earlier this season - those must be the standing room areas.

Been saying this all yesterday and today. Quite worried, but again, my concern is based on past Blazers teams. If there is a Blazers team that can keep it's focus and avoid complacency, this team is at, or near, the top of the list.

Houston has a ton of posts and pages... but they have it at 10 a page and start it as soon as the other game is done, it seems.

The Greater Houston Area is like 2.5 times the size of Portland, for the record.

Probably Asik and Howard start.

Or Lin instead of Bev?

I can't imagine many other changes. Their starters will likely play a ton of minutes tonight (as will ours), so the strategy of putting a high-scorer on the bench at the start (where they'd then be fresh to take advantage of our bench) makes little difference.

Anyone know if the game will be on any sort of live stream from a reputable source (i.e. not one of those crazy live streams from overseas that gets shut down at any given moment)?

I'm going to have the fire pit going outside, and I'm thinking of setting the laptop up out there under cover for those that hang out there (assuming there's a decent live stream).

I'm not 100% sure but I assume it will be on espn3

The way McHale is playing chess, this seems like the bone head move he'd make.

Yeah. I mean a guy who refuses to go back to the hot hand (Lin) in OT in game 1, and a myriad of other jokes of player subs... it wouldn't be surprising. lol.

I think Watch ESPn should have it, since it's an ESPN game.

Here's his new starting lineup:

PG: Calvin Murphy
SG: Rudy Tomjanovich
SF: Metta World Peace
PF: Ralph Sampson
C: Hakeem Olajuwon
