It seems like there should be some way to install giant filters or converters into smoke stacks to cut pollution from plants because regulations are never going to stay in place.

Last night was the first time since the election that I was actually proud to call Joe Biden MY president. Finally he shucked the Pollyanna act and took a page out of the Republican playbook. He came out of the box after his inauguration willing to work with the Republicants and all he got was "let's go Brandon". And now the Talibanicans are crying crocodile tears and playing the victim cards by the boat load. You just can't make this shit up. We finally get an adult back in the White House and the Republicans can't handle it. All this from the party who coined the term "snowflakes". How you find the courage to continue calling yourself a Republican is behind my limited imagination......

Wrong.

I said 10 minutes in because that's when Biden's speech actually began. I was simply trying to spare you the 10 minutes of nothingness prior to him speaking. Anyway, I listened to it all and thought it was a good speech all the way around.

I was making a joke about the MAGA's - saying that there is hope for the rest of the Republicans in Biden's world. ;)

If there isn't a blue wave in November the democratic party doesn't give a shit or they are not in-tune and off key.

But why? what is the issue, bad turnout, not enough emphasis for moderate independents? Seems they should know where they need more improvement and just do it.

They don't actually want to fix the problems. They just want to do barely enough to stay in power.

The Democratic party is not like a corporation where the CEO can just issue orders and everyone follows along or gets fired. It's a very loose association of people who don't all agree on anything, and no one can ever be fired from the party. So everyone is free to do what they think is best (for themselves, for the party, or for the country, depending on the moment), and as a result the party as a whole tends to look disorganized - because it is disorganized.
