To regain control of oil prices that have fallen 33% since mid-June, yesterday OPEC+ announced a 2 million bbl/day production cut. However, OPEC+ is currently underproducing by several million bbl/day. Thus, the cut will probably reduce actual production by about 800,000 bbl/day. In response, President Biden will release 10 million more barrels from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, which will have next to no impact on prices. It’s all just symbolic.

It seems that of the 6,500 prisoners eligible for pardon, not one of them is in prison solely for possession. Therefore, nobody will be released from prison under Biden's pardon.

This attempt to pull the wool over millions of eyes should be loudly condemned. Many of those 6,000 people convicted were victimized by the 1994 Crime Bill which was championed by a senator named Joe Biden. At the time he bragged that the legislation did “everything but hang people for jaywalking .” Or even send them to jail for marijuana possession.

Biden helped to create the problem that he is supposedly pardoning... absolutely no one for.
