Politics The Joe Biden Thread

Welcome to our community

Don't ever bother with me, unless you actually have something. That goes for everyone.

Not one person would refute this video, that I posted the other day. (though one seemingly respected member here, did at least agree with it)

I bring the truth. You want to bring something. Watch the video, and refute it with a logical answer, or link of your own. Or don't bother quoting me ever again.

I can't respect anyone who isn't willing to bother looking at the truth. If your party can't be questioned. It isn't a debate, it is just a one-sided conversation.

If you can look away from my links, don't ever bring me yours. Or your useless opinion. If you don't have to consider my links, I don't have to consider your links either. It is only fair play.

I am done playing this game where a democrat gets to dictate to me how their own party is, and a republican gets to dictate to me how their party is. This may be an open forum. But either bring something, or sit down and STFU.

Nobody here gives a damn about your clap trap bs posts or what you have to say so why do you keep posting?

I watched your video just now and sure...it's nothing new...lobbyists and 1%ers control policy and budget allocations. Pharma, Oil and Arms dealers are powerful lobbies and have been all our lives. Joe at least has taken on big pharma for price goughing and accomplished capping prescription drug costs. In politics there has always been give and take. They bargain....if you want this then you must add that to it. There's nothing wrong with this video or it's content but it's not earth shattering or new news. The most shocking thing I'm seeing today is the GOP scrapping the separation of Church and State. Pay politicians in govt like we pay school teachers or firemen or soldiers and watch the greedy leave for the private sector. Most people are in favor of campaign finance reform

Lol
I feel so bad for the medical industry.... You realize those are inflated prices so they can write them off, right?

If we had universal healthcare those prices would be a fraction, and far less than they pay in taxes. The actual cost is definitely far less than they pay.

When it costs $1200 to talk to a doctor for 3 minutes while a nurse puts a wet cast on my daughter's arm that I then have to hold in place.

$1200 just for the doctor's time. The X-ray was paid for separately. The nurse's time was paid for separately. The cast was paid for separately.

Most countries with universal healthcare that's $45 total.

It's not their fault we have a shitty healthcare system that we allow to abuse us like that.

That would be the fault of Republicans. Actually Dems as well. They've had multiple chances to get this fixed.

That's $500 per visit. Nearly all ER visits. This is a shitty US healthcare problem, in which our leaders allow healthcare to extract money from our pockets. Not an illegal immigrant problem.

Your voodoo math is beyond delusional. But not the reason I responded.

We need to start a thread dedicated only to keeping tract of the costs for all of the programs you support. Not sure how many trillions of $$$ you want to spend? But your spending spree is off the charts. Just so you get everything for free.

Now, how to pay for all your programs without exploding inflation and the national dept.? 2 ideas.

1) Invade Canada
2) Sell California to China.

We can pay for healthcare with the money we already spend on healthcare. In fact, we could have the same universal healthcare Canada has with less than the money just our government already spends on healthcare.

If we wanted better healthcare than that we could divert some of the money corporations currently spend and everyone would still save money. And corporations would save on having to manage it. And nearly everyone would have better access to healthcare.

The numbers are already there. And Americans seek healthcare outside the US at higher rates than come to the US for healthcare.

Also, US has higher infant mortality than other first world countries with universal healthcare and far lower costs. Same deal on many things.

Universal healthcare is just superior in nearly every way.

Most services I support pay for themselves or save us money.

The actual, verifiable information in the video, absolutely.

However, the conclusions in the video--that the democratic party intentionally subverts their own agenda to keep the money-train flowing--are nothing but speculation, and do not need to be "refuted.

Congresswoman Nancy Mace, who is on vacation, tweeted this morning "Biden is MIA. Anyone ask where he is?" Didn't age well. Official White House account posted pictures of Biden with hostage families talking to released prisoners on phone with caption "he's been busy".

Two hours later Mace took down tweet.

The very first quote of my post was quite the lesson in adult conversation skills, eh? When you get posts like that, as an autistic adult. I end up jumping in the ring with them. I play by the rules I see the conversation going. Jump in the ring and duke it out, or adult route.

Even the adult route doesn't work. When all the person wants to do, is push you out of your position. Without even ever bothering to read an article you posted, or watch a video either. Most every post I make goes unread. I have no problem with that. But when people argue about the post without ever reading it, they aren't having a genuine adult conversation, in the first place. Just pouncing to cover their own ego. Predictable and unimpressive.

In the end. As I see it. You can't have an adult conversation with people who don't want to see the truth about their party. Unless that "truth" is a positive towards their party.

Adult conversations are a truly rare item in online politics.

Politics shouldn't be pulling teeth to get people to do, what they should have done in the first place. Read the article, watch the video. If people can't do that in the first place. They shouldn't bother quoting anyone, ever. You aren't even trying to have a "good faith" adult conversation. Period.

I would go on. But I am done here. I won't get anything from this. As it is already too late to salvage any conversations from the video I posted.

adult conversation, I asked who you voted for and why....you have never shown me that transparency in your political views...walk the walk if you want adult conversations...engaging with adults is a good start. I'm an adult and I don't need political agreement to discuss politics.

Insurance is absolutely the wrong process for providing health care.

If the goal is to keep Americans healthy insurance is just wrong.

No other insurance operates like health insurance does.

Imagine if your homeowner's insurance had to cover paint, repairs, and home improvements. You have to get preauthorization before replacing your hot water tank?

Or if your car insurance had to cover gas, tires, tune-ups, brakes, and engine repairs?

"Sir, this gas station is out of network, we'll only pay 20% of your fillup."

Insurance is designed to spread risk over a group of people.

Not everyone has home fires or car accidents, but everyone has health problems.

It's so fucked up, health insurance pressures healthcare providers not to provide the best care, but less care. Doctors and healthcare providers get bonuses for not ordering things like tests or diagnostic imagining.

Health insurance is a broken and flawed system.

Having to provide health insurance is the #1 reason why small businesses can't expand. And the backbone of our economy is small businesses.

If the question is how do we provide the best health care to the citizens of the greatest country on earth, health insurance is not the answer.

We pay more per person than any country on earth and our health expectancy is decreasing.

And these problems are with Obamacare. Can you imagine what would happen if Obamacare were repealed and the pre-existing condition clause were nuked?

And this is exactly why the Right has been so terrified of Biden, why they keep labeling him this country's "greatest danger". He gets good stuff done that benefits ordinary Americans. He understands what it is the average American wants, instead of what the 1% wants. The Republicants can't compete with that. They've already lied to the "little people" who are propping them up, telling them that that stuff isn't doable (Joe Biden says, "Hold my beer!") or that they don't really need or want it. And then those folks see that it CAN be done, and that others are benefiting so now they're going to want some too. If I were a Republican (shudder) right now, I'd be doing my damndest to dump Trump and trying to find a candidate that might be at least half assed electable (without the cheating, attempted coups, etc, of course.........)

Yeah. He kind of defeats the "big government is bad so we don't do anything" Republican argument.

I responded to a tweet this afternoon. Someone with a libertarian handle said that Harris coming out with anti-price gouging proposals was not free market and unacceptable because we can't trust our government. I tweeted back that they sound like the 1890s robber barons that Teddy Roosevelt fought against, and that I'd rather have legislators we voted to represent us making those decisions rather than Musk, Bezos and other billionaires.

Despite all the evidence we have, these guys still think the oligarchies that arise from unregulated capitalism is a good thing. It's not. It never has been.

Congressman Comer issues lengthy report concluding Biden should be impeached although Congress couldn't find any crime.

Also he wants to launch investigation into Governor Walz for something.

We need to do away with the two party system. Ranked choice voting and TERM LIMITS for congress & the Supreme beings.

Biden said he was too young to be a Senator and too old to be president but did his best. That's Biden. He isn't flashy or charismatic or exciting. Just does his job.
Most of us are not geniuses, including the candidate who says he is. Just do our best.

Despite what the turd heads on the right say, he will be looked back on as a great president. He accomplished some great stuff in a 4 year window.

Im happy for Joe as he can now enjoy and reinvent himself through retirement.
