We never should have gotten into the Iraqi and Afghanistan cultures. They don't want our boots on their soil as we wouldn't want a foreign presence in our land. This has been a US FUBAR for over 20 years. Many people died and insane amounts of money we dumped is awful. My youngest nephew served two tours of Iraq. He was a Corp man assigned to a marine company. PTSD followed him home.

Our problem was that when when we asked the Taliban not to allow Al Qaeda to freely use Afghanistan as a spring board for further terrorist activities the Talibsn response was they would allow whoever they wanted to do whatever was desired including Al Qaeda. We spent considerable time trying to get them to change their minds but to no avail.

Student debt is sort of a hypocritical hill to die on IMO. White liberals want to talk about privilege? Look at the racial and economic demographics of college graduates. Cancellation of student debt equates to the underprivileged working class paying off more affluent peoples debts. It’s kind of bullshit when you really think about it.
Making college education free would be another story, however.
