I thought the time spent at home was clearly a period of reflection for Joe, his most trusted advisors around him in his ear. I feel bad for AOC and Bernie who dug in for Joe as the nominee, as honestly I still believe unless they absolutely nail the ticket, he was the best pick for Democrats in November. I'd love to hear people in 10 years or so talk about this time, when everything gets truncated...will people remember how long this dragged out? Will his debate performance be blamed, the assassination attempt, his age? If they do pull off the dream ticket and scrape by in November, perhaps Biden will be hailed as the hero who stepped up to beat Trump the first time, and aside to beat him the second.
 
You have to wonder if they didn't plan this before hand, so that the selection could be made via delgates rather than popular vote.

What are the odds Biden survives till November? I put it at 50/50. The nymbrr of probabilities they have to weigh before announcing that Biden is out has got to be intense.

4 months. Pretty good odds. He just doesn't have the capacity for the job.

Absolutely, but the youth will realize that Trump will bomb Gaza just as happily if not more so.

It's not an issue that really benefits Trump. It's a push. And I just don't think four out of ten likely Democratic voters currently considering not voting will follow through on that considering all the stuff they stand to lose if Trump wins.

I hope so; I’m on tumblr and Twitter and both are being hit with “lol voting is a sham” messaging hard. Luckily, voting kind of is a sham and only really matters in three or four states, but still I worry.

In a hopeful way, dems can pitch it as “we let peepaw try but he just got too sick… now we’re picking some younger candidate instead.”
 
Trump is now the oldest candidate to ever run for president. He should drop out tbh, we can’t have these geezers running our country anymore
 
Whoever becomes the candidate Democrats need to rally around that person and come out in mass in November to defeat Frump! You can bet that maga supporters will fear whoever becomes the candidate!
