National writer's have had us on the short end of lopsided trades for many years. Some have been almost comical. It's lazy thinking and meant to ingratiate them with big market team's fan's.
One thing you have to give Cronin credit for is holding his ground and not caving to any pressure and accepting lesser trade packages. I hope that holds true in the future.
With that being said, I don't get the urgency of sacrificing the position we are in for a couple years of Giannis. For a long time fans were pissed about the situation the team was in. Now, with a very good young core, as well as a few veterans who can make big contributions, and a pretty good stash of future pics, people want to throw it all in on a couple years of contending...and that's not guaranteed. There's chemistry questions, age and health concerns, no coaching stability, new ownership on the way (which will be a positive), etc. Not the best situation to to try to make a splash move, that if unsuccessful, puts us back to square one after a couple decades of frustration finally put in the rearview mirror.
