Simmons and Lowe didn't seem to hate the pick.

Hidden in all of this is (for me) a great thing.

Add a country to your international basketball watch list! I love having Blazers which play internationally for their country!

I know in the past people have been on one side or the other on this. Some don’t like our players playing for their countries in the offseason and wish our team was the focus. But with a young player like Hansen Yang, I’m hoping down the road he can get as much time as possible with his national team.

How about the passes he can make? This one shown here is top-level. I still think it's going out of bounds.

Ok these highlights are worth something since its the NBA combine. Also theres enough of the clips you can watch the entire play.

The highlights from China are nearly worthless as honestly looks like a bunch of YMCA pickup.

It was actually different seasons. Yang played in the season after. Duop put up those numbers at age 26.

Duop put up those numbers in 25MPG. Yang did his in 33MPG, so definitely a bit different. Duop was also much less efficient so it seems like more of a usage thing. Still, Duop is a serviceable NBA player, so there is at least some hope here.

We're all the China journalist just there for Yang? I'd assume most were just covering the draft in general. Maybe most of them just stayed in the states after the finals.

Could be of course. But that showed me the size of this market. And economically it will definitely be good business.

Yang under pressure:
Suppose that Yang becomes a starter, or perhaps even a rotation player. Excited, 1 in every 1000 of his countrymen buy a jersey. That's 1.4 million jerseys sold. Wow!

I guess the Lakers hosted Klutch clients and Yangs workout was HORRIBLE

I root for the player but I am done with Cronin -- fuck him there is nothing short of trading for Giannis that MIGHT change my mind on him. Now I am praying that Cronin does not trade someone who is a legit part of the future and that the new owner comes in ASAP and fires the clown brigade in the front office cause this is just a joke kind of how the Blazers are around the league right now.
Where did you see / hear that it was horrible?

Zach Lowe made a segment about us being potentially sneaky good. He has no worries with our pic. Bill Simmons has more to say about Kendrick Perkins and the awful coverage by ESPN (thanks to him for saying it out loud) than our pick. At least there is thag. And BS called Yang «Russillo's guy».

Spoke yesterday with an agent who was at the combine. He know how close I am to the Blazers. And said Yang was fantastic during the combine and said it's a good pick. But it's only one guy's opinion...

Yang summarized on sirius nba by ex coach

can make layups
Can jump
Well coached
Poor wrist strength so loses balls
Horrible jump shot, more of a push shot
Horrible horrible on defense. Esp. Switches.

basically said he would only be playable in select scenarios.

I think the best way to look at this is we flipped with another team for a future first and got a couple seconds for it. Forget about Yang. Think about him as a G league invite and anything he does is a bonus.

Wow. That should never be a 1st round pick.

For my money, this would be an absolute dream scenario. It's hard to imagine such a big transaction, but they all seem doable individually. Our second unit wouldn't be far behind the starters in any configuration.
Yeah, I went with what makes sense for all the teams involved and rumors I heard. Bulls are looking to deal Ball, Nuggets MPJ and GSW wants to get rid of Kuminga and needs a C.
Ball can be a backup, and is expiring if he does not pan out. But having another two lanky guys in MPJ and Kuminga on top of what we already have would be good.

Good deal other than Ball. Never bring a guy with knee troubles to Portland. Though he is expiring. Probably should keep Banton around just in case.

I like the prospect of adding MPJ and Kuminga.
