Interesting move trying to sneak $15 minimum wage into this bill. You know, because what struggling businesses need right now is larger payroll expenses than the ones they already cannot afford.

If they aren’t actively trying to close down small business they do a good job of pretending like they are.

Even the poor have to eat and pay rent.

No one was trying to sneak that into the bill. It has been publicly known and discussed since his bill was introduced.

And just so you know...

"Mr. Biden’s stimulus package would increase the wage to $15 per hour by 2025"

It was no big deal to Republicans when Trump did it, so it’s no big deal now. Quit trolling Dame. You’re clogging the fuck outta threads with Republican tit for tat..........they don’t need any more encouragement than their stunted minds and rampant paranoia already give them.

Edit: Gaitz is an opportunist who wants to appear to be above the fray, yet wants everyone to know that the FEMA pick has a history. In other words, he’s playing both sides for everything he can get......

I don't like listening to people ranting, but he is on the mark.

Wolf Blitzer is such a Self admiring ass. Don't like him, never will. IMO

Safer than transporting by rail or truck. Mistake, imo
The way I see it is that the Alaskan pipeline, which is an old design, is surpassed by this system. The real injury are jobs lost in this project and all the subsequent business loss supplementing this pipeline.

Not 100% sure I understand this comment. The Alaska pipeline is old at this point, yes, but Keystone XL isn't in Alaska.

The XL was intended to transport oil from the Alberta oil sands, but as I understand it that isn't financially viable to extract at this point anyway, with the price of oil so low.

I'm not an oil industry guy, so maybe I've got that wrong.

I was comparing the new design advantage to the old design in Alaska. That Alaskan pipeline has got to be 50+ years old. ........Nothing to do with location but I was thinking the new technology has got to have redundant systems which would be a safer transport system.

Makes sense, but it's a bit like saying your car is new whereas mine is old. It may well be true that yours is newer and better, and that's great for you, but it does me no good at all. I still have to drive my old junker. I live on the other side of the country, so you couldn't even loan me your new car if you wanted to.

Depends on how you define safe. If you mean less lives lost then yes but if you mean less dangerous accidents then no.

At least he didn't grab her by the pussy and say her family came from a shithole country and her grandfather was a sucker for dying in the Korean War and..........[/QUO ]
It just goes on and on. An act of endurance the "logical people" in American society had to hear & and see for four years.
How much more could we take if four turned to eight? The Iranians need to step up and cart him off to his trial.

Your President

That can be taken as a act of social diplomacy. You always compliment women on how young they look but credit their smart attributes as well. Kudos to Joe. The orange clown would have said absurd phrases and re directed to himself.

not sure I under how an in place well built pipe line would have more dangerous accidents? Seems to me the peril of trains/trucks would be higher, not to mention the emissions they emit in transporting?

I once saw a report based on statistics. Yeah, there are more deaths with trains but more expense with fixing and cleaning up a pipeline accident. When a pipeline bursts the oil just keeps on spilling and spilling and spilling.
The transport of oil is just a very nasty business. Better to go renewable or nuclear or even natural gas.

The trains transport really toxic nuclear waste material and other unknow toxins. Someone should tell the engineers. Unfortunately, if they knew what they haul, we wouldn't have train engineers.

also, i don't understand the need for direct payment stimulus checks for people who still have jobs. expand unemployment, help small businesses, stop evictions, raise minimum wage, figure out vaccine rollout, expand testing, start devising a plan for schools.

what need is there to put $2000 unnecessarily in hands of people who are already getting paychecks?
Because it's faster and misses fewer people. Also, many people have had to miss a lot of work to help their children with school. They are still getting a paycheck, but it's far lower.

It's simply the most efficient way to do the most good the quickest given the same amount of money.
