What US entered Afghanistan full of righteousness, anyone who criticized or even asked what the plan was got told they were siding with terrorists and also sacking our own quarterback. Men who had never seen a women's right they didn't hate were now going to be liberators of Afghan women. And like Vietnam it dragged on and on with weak corrupt government and no resolution. Then Trump, as has been said, negotiated deal with Taliban that did not include or even discuss with Afghan government. Remember how he wanted to invite Taliban to Camp David on anniversary of 9/11? Consistent with his admiration for really terrible people.

Biden administration caught short in how fast they would advance. Like Ford.

Republicans DELETE webpage praising Donald Trump's 'historic peace deal with the Taliban' and his support for withdrawing troops as the Taliban takes control
  • The Republican National Committee has removed the page from their website
  • It was titled 'President Trump Is Bringing Peace In The Middle East' and described how he 'continued to take the lead in peace talks'
  • Also accused Biden of taking 'the lead and pushing for endless wars'
  • Users were met with a 404 error page on the site on Sunday night
  • Trump made a conditional peace deal in 2020 with the Taliban saying they would reduce Afghan troops if they didn't support terrorists
  • Trump also called on Biden to 'resign in disgrace' on Sunday night over the disastrous Afghan troop withdrawal

Trump also against all advice agreed to release of 5000 top Taliban prisoners in exchange for a three month cease fire to help his election campaign.

I can't imagine why they'd do that. I mean, there's no reason why they'd want to distance trump (or the GOP in general) from whats happening. It's all about blaming Biden and the Democrats!

(certain) Republicans are weird.

Like right now, Cuomo, Weiner, Spitzer (and more) fucked up and their careers are all but over.

But someone can be in charge of a state that has some worst covid death totals, horrible responses to it and totally fuck things up and they're like "yup, he's my guy!"

I wonder how the Republicans would be spinning this if Trump was still president? America 1st

Terrorism was never our true objective in Afghanistan. So... the U.S. withdrawal was going to end badly, whomever was president at the time.

Sure, I will agree Biden didn't do a good job with the withdrawal, at all. But, at the end of the day, this was Trump's deal. And the blame for Afghanistan is shared with every president from G.W. Bush on.

In general, US foreign policy has been terrible, regardless of President.

Yes, your taste in politicians continues to be deplorable.

barfo
Right. You'll be voting for mini-Trump, aka, Ron DeathSentence. It's all good. If the goal is to witness the end of time, of course you should vote for people that fuck everything up.

I just knew I should have voted for Biden.

It makes perfect sense when you've been waiting for that hippy looking dude to show up to destroy humanity and starts shit all over again. It's a death cult.

Dude abides, man.

It's been funny to me over the past ~4 years when liberals say "I never thought I'd say this, but Trump makes me miss Bush!" It's cool that he seems like a gentle old man today, but thinking Bush was in some way better than Trump is definitely overly romanticizing the past.

Bush would be fun to drink a beer with.

Trump, not so much.

Minimally. I mean, better manners. Terrible policies that hurt a lot of people but to him that was collateral damage, for Trump cruelty was the point.

I don't drink beer. Of all criteria for choosing a president, who would you like to have a beer with is about the stupidest. Is the affable Bush a better president than dour Lincoln?

I never said that is a criteria for choosing a president.

As a former president if given the chance I'd have a beer with the man.

Joe Biden has just given you a pay cut, America. Get ready for more

Call it a "Biden pay cut." Americans' real wages are falling under President Joe Biden.

On Wednesday, the Labor Department announced that inflation rose by 5.4 percent over the previous year -- the fastest pace (tied with last month) since 2008.

Last Friday, it revealed that average wages only rose by 4 percent over the same timeframe. These numbers confirm what Americans already know: Their living standards are declining under President Biden as inflation swamps wage gains.

The Federal Reserve and Biden administration have tried to gaslight Americans by downplaying inflation and calling it transitory. Yet consumers and small businesses in the real world are feeling its full effects.

Gas prices have increased by approximately 50 percent since Biden was elected. Major companies, including Procter & Gamble, Coca-Cola, Kimberly-Clark, General Mills, and Unilever, have announced price increases.

The CEO of Tyson Foods, the nation's largest chicken producer, said on a recent earnings call that costs are rising faster than the company's ability to raise prices. Half of second-quarter nominal GDP growth is phantom inflation gains. According to the Job Creators Network Foundation Monthly Monitor poll, inflation is the biggest concern of small businesses.

President Biden seems to recognize he's vulnerable on this issue. This week he called on OPEC to increase oil production in an effort to address runaway gas prices taxing American pocketbooks.

Yet far more drastic action is needed. Biden and Congressional Democrats must immediately scrap their several trillion dollars of proposed federal spending that threatens to turn high inflation hyper and devalue American paychecks even more........

........Biden's inflation-induced decline in American living standards contrasts to the stable dollar and rising wages under President Trump pre-pandemic. Due to his administration's tax cuts and deregulation, real earnings for ordinary workers rose at a rapid rate, and 6.6 million Americans were lifted out of poverty between 2017 and 2019.

Yet while Trump gave us tax cuts, Biden's giving us pay cuts. If he succeeds in signing several trillion dollars of additional spending into law, Americans can expect an even larger decline in real wages to come.

She was pregnant (me) at the time, otherwise she might've jumped on one of the helicopters and came to the U.S. in '75 (she was working for someone at the U.S. Embassy). She also didn't want to leave her dad behind.

Just think if she would've said screw it and aborted you. On second thought, forget the just think part.
