I'm just trying to think how this whole idea would work now that we feel we have a pretty good core so we should just actively try to lose from here on out.
Aside from the message that would send to the fans that actually go to the games, are you benching everyone older than Shaedon? What do you do with Deni? Do you think having a half-dozen players that still aren't in the primes of their careers sitting out just on the off-chance the Blazers might win the lottery sitting out a season that they could be using toward another contract is going to fly well with them or other players that might come here?
What if, God forbid, the Blazers still win? Or what if we lose but we have the worst possible scenario in the lottery and end up picking sixth or seventh anyway?
It just seems there are a lot of potentially negative outcomes to actively tanking when you're getting decent. The Sixers have stars and a really good roster and still are stuck in purgatory. The Pelicans keep picking higher and getting worse. And, again, no one wants to be the Wizards.
